The opening of the lesson was greeting, I used a toy. At the beginning of the lesson I greeted the children, saying “Good afternoon boys and girls. I’m glad to see you”.

Pupils had to guess the topic with the help of pictures on the blackboard. Then I said the aims of the lesson and activities they would do during the lesson.

Then I asked the question about time of the year, days of the week and so on.

At the warm-up stage I used the rhyme “Big Ben”. And I checked homework in oral form. I presented the new theme. The new words were used on cards. At this stage I used poly-linguism, Kazakhstan component and video material about “London”.

- Let’s start our lesson. Today we will talk about “Travelling around Britain” and grammatical construction “The negative form of Past Simple”.

Remember!

We use didn’t + verb to make the negative form of Past Simple.

e.g.: He didn’t live in London 5 years ago.

He didn’t go to England last year.


-And now, open your vocabulary and write down new words. At first listen to me and repeat after me.

Vocabulary:

royal – корольдік - королевский

- What are the lakes in Kazakhstan? Name them.

Hi, my name is Mr. Morris. I am from America. My trip to England was full of surprises. I didn’t know it was often rainy in England in summer. British people say: “There are four seasons in a day”. And now I know this is true.

The next day we visited Stonehenge. I though Stonehenge was an ancient castle. But it isn’t. I didn’t know it, Stonehenge is a group of big stones. The stones make a circle. It’s very, very old. People have different ideas who made it.

I didn’t know anything about monsters in Britain. But I saw one. We went to the Loch Ness Lake in Scotland. It was there. Now the Loch Ness Lake is one of the most famous tourist sights in Scotland.

The next city I visited was Stanford-upon-Avon. I didn’t know that Stanford-upon-Avon was famous for William Shakespeare. William Shakespeare was a famous English writer and poet. The Royal Shakespeare theatre is one of the most popular and important cultural places in the UK.
