  • Use a variety of simple perfect forms while talking about sport superstars
  • Understand specific information in a quiz

     Tell their personal opinion about sport superstars using new words

 Collect ideas and thoughts using imaginations.

 Deduce the meaning of new words and identify specific information and detail in texts, using activities learn mingling Problem and solution organizer.

  • Do you like the weather?

Warm –up

Teacher introduces the lesson objectives in a simplified manner.

Teacher shows a picture related to the topic of the lesson.

Students guess the topic of the lesson.

Teacher asks students some questions:

  • Who is the most famous boxer in our Country?
  • Could you speak about some examples of popularity in sport?

Focus on reading

Pre-reading

Teacher prepares students for the activity by asking them some questions:

  • What sport do you like to watch?
  • Who is your favourite sports star?
  • Have you ever met a sports star?

Reading

  • Teacher gives out the students the texts. The texts are available in Handout 1. Teacher allows time to read. Students read about sports stars.

 

Students work individually or in pairs. Teacher monitors and helps if it is necessary.

 

Post-reading

Teacher tells students that they are going to take a part in a quiz to see how aware they are in sports. Students work in pairs. Teacher gives out the worksheets, one for each pair of students.

Teacher answers any questions students may have about pictures. Students answer to the given questions.

Focus on Grammar

Teacher explains Present perfect + still, yet, just and already that by using presentation and then writes the examples on the board.
Examples: I've just seen Sai. He's really enjoying his new job. We haven't decided what to do yet. I still haven't called Yumi to see how she is. I've already had lunch but I'll join you for coffee. Teacher asks students to write given examples down to their notebooks and complete the sentences from the text

At the end of the lesson, learners reflect on their learning:

•What they learned during the lesson? (new vocabulary and etc.)

•What skills did they develop? (speaking, listening and etc.)

•What remained unclear?

•What is necessary to work on
