Lesson plan
The theme of the lesson: School canteen.
Grade: the 6th form.
The aims of the lesson: to enlarge pupils’ knowledge of grammar, to develop pupils’ skills in speaking, to introduce the pupils with new vocabulary, to create a friendly atmosphere.
Visual aids: cards, pictures.
Procedure of the lesson:
I. Organization moment.
Teacher: Good afternoon, dear pupils!
Pupils: Good afternoon, good afternoon
Good afternoon to you
Good afternoon, dear teacher
We are glad to see you!
Teacher: I am also glad to see you! Take your seats, please.
II. Phonetic drill. I am a pupil,
You are a writer.
She is a teacher,
And he is a fighter.
III. Checking up the home task.
IV. Presentation of new material.
-New vocabulary: canteen, food, bread, juice, cake, biscuits, tasty.
-Try to answer the following questions.
Is there a canteen in your school? How often do you go to the school canteen? What food is popular in your canteen? What is your favourite drink?
V. Reading. School canteen.
Our school canteen is large. It is on the ground floor. It is clean and light. After the third lesson most of the pupils go to the school canteen to have a bite. We usually buy a cup of tea and some biscuits. The food in the school canteen is very tasty. We like our canteen.
VI. Doing exercises.
Read the statements and work with signal cards ( True or False).
We study French language at school. Our teacher can’t speak English. The capital of Great Britain is Astana. Today the weather in Beineu is frosty and windy. Every pupil in our class speaks German and English. We live in the south of Kazakhstan. I can read English and Kazakh texts. In summer we like to go to Astana.
