The theme of the lesson: “ Cultural traditions”
The aims of the lesson:
a) Practice pupils by doing different kinds of games and exercises of the lesson, enrich pupil’s vocabulary
b) Develop pupil’s skills and habits, making up different conversations
c) Bring up to interest in learning English and pupil’s feeling of international friendship, to respect customs and traditions.
Visual aids: interactive board, balloons, pictures, cards, markers, video materials

I. Organization moment
a) Greeting
- Good morning, children!
- Good morning, teacher!
b) Check up attendance
- Who is on duty today?
- I’m on duty today
- Who is absent?
… .

-What is the weather like today?

II. Phonetic drill
Phonetic exercises help to the pupils to develop their pronunciation and speaking skills.
Now, children, let’s read the poem. Please, repeat after me.

I LOOK IN THE MIRROR

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
I see a happy face smiling at me.

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
I see a surprised face looking at me.

Do you see the double vowels: oo{u} {u:} and ee{i:}. Do you know other words with these sounds?

For example: book, room, spoon, took, goose, tooth

Seek, meet, sheet, sheep, keep

III. Checking up the home task: -What was your home task for today?

Yes, your project work: Mini project: “What makes you feel …?”

Let’s review our previous lesson. We’ve learnt about the feelings. So, do the crossword. There’re 7 pictures with feelings, you should open the stickers and guess the word. Good luck!



IV. Explaining the new material:
The theme of our new lesson is «Customs and traditions», we'll speak about Holidays, Traditions and Customs of the foreign countries. Besides, there are too many guests today in our class-room, that's why let's show them our language skills. So, every country and nation has their own traditions and customs. It's very important to know traditions and customs of different people, especially if we want to know their language. We can't say: " we know English", if we do not know English traditions. Besides, they are very important in the life of English people. They are proud of their traditions and keep them up carefully. That's why we are going to know more about holidays today.

I hope that from this lesson we’ll get more information about foreign countries and traditions and about their feelings. Today’s main task is to work with the text in order to develop our reading and listening comprehension.

Open your books on page 72, Ex.16. “It makes me feel happy” First of all let’s memorize the new words. Repeat after me all together looking at the pictures. Then write down on your vocabulary.
1. Lantern [‘lәetәn] фонарь

2. Dragon ['drәgәn] дракон
3. Traditional dress [trә’disәnl dres] ұлттық киім
4. Fireworks [‘faiәwә:ks] от-шашулар
5. Choir [‘kwaiә] хор

There are 4 texts for you, each captain will choose one card with national flag and it will be your text. Let’s listen to the texts. Record 3:13

Ok, now let’s read and translate the texts. The first group will start. Listen to each other, please!

Let’s do an exercise 18 p.73 Listen and say the name. Open your copy-books and write the answers.

Now, it’s time to play! There are 10 balloons with questions in it. You should gobble up the balloons and answer the questions.

4. Where is from Zhi? 9. Where does Victoria go?

IV. Physical exercise.

I think you’re tired, let’s sing and dance “The Hokey Pokey” song.

V. Fixing the material.

The next task is to write the missing words. Do it in groups. Then check yourselves.

Let’s watch the video about customs and traditions of Kazakhstan. I think It’s very important to know our ancient customs and traditions which became for us from our grand-grand parents and we must show them to our future generation.
