The theme: Mountains and rivers of Kazakhstan

7 Grade

Aims : To enrich pupils knowledge, to develop pupils abilities in speaking; to enrich their vocabulary.

To bring up pupils to save the nature and to foster their love to animals and plants. To develop pupils’ writing, listening skills and lexical habits. The theme of our lesson today is Mountains and rivers of Kazakhstan. Today at our lesson we will speak about Kazakhstan’s nature.

Warming-up activity:
Pronunciation

[ɑ:] – grass, large, parts, plants

[æ]- ash, aplle, maple, saffron, black

[i:] – cedar, needle, believe

[e] – desert, fescue, feather grass

True or false:

Kazakhstan steppes cover a great part of the country.
In the mid-summer the grass burns and becomes yellow because of the sun.
Oak trees do not grow in the area of the forest steppe.
In humid places near the rivers there are reeds and sedges.

Checking comprehension: answer the questions:

III. Grammar revising: Degrees of comparison p.129 ex.IV.

Writing: fill in the gaps with appropriate form of adjectives: ex. 1 p. 129
Speaking: read and remember how to use adjectives in the sentences. 2 p. 129
Homework

Your homework will be read the text on the p. 131 the flora of Kazakhstan and make a claster, learn new words
