The theme of the lesson: Mass Media

Aim: To provide students with an opportunity free speaking practice about Mass Media. To show work with exceptional children and their leader in group

Tasks:

to teach pupils to express their opinion about mass media

to practice giving opinions, agreeing and disagreeing

to bring up to be polite with each other

to develop pupils’ self-working skills, speaking habits

to develop pupils’ interests in learning English

to bring up love and respect to the native  and foreign languages

Type of the lesson: new lesson

Equipment: an interactive board, posters

Methods of the lesson: effective methods of developing critical thinking.

Types of work: group work, pair work, individual work

Procedure of the lesson:

  1. Organization moment – 5 min
  1.  Greeting; to ask about pupil’s mood.

Good morning, students! How are you today? Who’s on duty today? Who’s absent?

 

  1. Dividing into the groups

Divide into the groups with pictures mass media

 

  1. Brainstorming – 5 min

a) What do you read every day?
b) What do you listen to in the morning?
c) Do you like to watch TV or listen to music?
d) What TV program do you like to watch?
e) Where do we get information?

f)  What TV programmers do your parents prefer?

g)  Do you think everyone should have a computer? Why?

h)  What Radio music programmers do you know? 

Look at the interactive board and how do you think what is the theme of our lesson.

Work with new words – 3 min

Now open your vocabulary and write down these new words

The first group your theme is “Television”

The second group your theme is “Internet”

The third group your theme is “Radio”

The fourth group your theme is “Newspaper”

Give the English equivalents to the following:

Each group you should compare two mass media on your elections

  1. Evolution – 3 min

The leader of the each group marking your group with criterion

Write essay “Mass Media in our life”

  1. Conclusion – 2 min
