TEACHER. SO, boys, this poem is about one of teen’s problem. You know , there are many problems at these years. And today we shall speak about teenage years and the theme of our lesson is “Teenage years… Do they bring luck?” Look at this scheme and try to say, what does it mean - to be young. At first let’s remember the translation of some words. Please, read and translate these words.

P.2: Estelle doesn’t do anything exciting with her friends. They usually have fun just being around each other. When she goes out on weekends there is a lot of pressure to drink and smoke.
P.3: Bart and his friends go out. There is a bunch (group) of them, both boys and girls. The people he hangs about don’t pressure him.
TEACHER. What reasons make John call the world “a very scary place”?
P.: Violence, teen pregnancy, AIDS cases are increasing. More and more teens turn to drugs and alcohol.
TEACHER. Why does Estelle think that being a teenager is a “chore”?
P.: She thinks that being a teenager is a “chore” because she has go to school and her parents want her to get good grades (marks).
TEACHER. What do the teenagers think about adults attitude towards teens’ problems? Do they approve of it?
P.: Estelle’s parents want her to get good grades. John thinks that grown-ups are indifferent to what happens to their children.
TEACHER. Which of these teenagers could say the following? What makes you think so?
“We are too young to see only bad sides of life.”
P.: I think Bart could say these words because he said that being a teenager is great fun. Take it easy.
