"Do you know Past Indefinite Tense?"

Открытый урок в 6-м классе.

Tема: “Do you know Past Simple?”

 Тип урока: обобщающий.

Objectives:  1. to revise and consolidate the learned grammar material  (Past Simple Tense)

 2. to develop listening, speaking and writing skills.

                         3. to encourage pupils to use regular/irregular verbs in their speech.

Межпредметные связи:

музыка - исполнение песен;

драма - разыгрывание сценок по ролям.

Procedure.

  1. Org. moment. Teacher: Good morning children! I am glad to see you.
  2. Warm up. Guessing work.

Teacher: Try to guess what the theme of our lesson is. I tell you a story and you guess what it’s all about. Listen attentively.

   I have a friend. His name is DID. If I want to ask a question DID always help me.

I also have a tail “-ed”  if I am regular. But I am different when I am irregular.

What is my name?

   Pupils: Past Simple.

  Teacher: Yes, you are right. And the theme of our lesson is:  “Do you know Past Simple?”

T.: Let’s revise The Past Simple Tense. О чём мы должны помнить?

4. Affirmative:  I visited my friend yesterday.

5. Negative:  I did not visit my friend yesterday.

6. Interrogative:  Did you visit my friend yesterday?

Teacher:  Посмотрите на предложения , какая самая изменяемая часть в английском предложении.

Pupils: глагол.

Teacher:   Сейчас прозвучит стихотворение, в котором очень много глаголов. Послушайте.

 I want to live and not to die!                          I want to swim as fishes do

I want to laugh and not to cry!                       I want to stretch out friendly hands.

I want to feel the summer sun                        To all the young of other lands.

I want to sing when life is fun                        I want to laugh and not to cry!

I want to fly into the blue                                I want to live and not to die!

V. Работа с правильными и неправильными глаголами.

1.  Teacher:  В этом стихотворении глаголы имеют начальную форму.

  Let’s change them into the Past Simple Tense.

Live – lived,                                           

find – found,

die – died,

laugh – laughed,

sing – sang,

fly – flew,

swim – swam,

feel – felt.

2. Teacher: Translate the sentences:

1. Моя сестра пела песни вчера.  My sister sang song yesterday.

2. Я нашла вчера деньги. I found money yesterday.

Teacher: Какое слово повторяется в предложениях?

 Pupils: Yesterday.

VI. Singing a song “Yesterday”.

Task :While you are singing put down the words in the gaps.

  Yesterday,

All my troubles _______so far away,

Now it looks as though they’re here to stay,

Oh, I believe in_________.

Suddenly,

I’m not half the man I used to be,

There’s a shadow hanging over me,

Oh, ________ ______suddenly.

Why she ____to go I don’t know, she wouldn’t say,

I______ something wrong, now I_____for yesterday.

___________,

Love _______such an easy game to play,

Now I ______a place to_____ away,

Oh, I _________in yesterday.

 

Teacher:  Pay attention on the following words from the song:

Trouble-тревога, shadow- тень, long for smth- страстно желать чего-л.,

suddenly- вдруг,внезапно, hanging over me- повисла надо мной,

to hide   away- спрятаться

VII. Acting out a story.

Teacher:  Учащиеся приготовили для вас сценку, в которой встречаются глаголы в прошедшем времени. (На столах у ребят лежат карточки с текстом, заранее приготовленные учителем).

Task: While you are listening put down the verbs:

had       did…help       caught       was          met      saw

sat down     came up     pulled       ran away   did …catch

 

Boy: Once upon a time all rabbits … long tails. One day a rabbit …  a fox who had a big bag of fish on her back.

Rabbit: Good morning, Mrs. Fox. What a lot of fish you have! Where …you …them?

Fox: Glad to see you, Mr. Rabbit. I .... them in the lake near the forest.

Rabbit: … your friend …you?

Fox: Oh, no. I …quite along. It was very easy to catch fish.

Rabbit: How did you do it?

Fox: I …a stone near the lake. I …. down on it with my tail in the water. One fish after another …up to me and bit my tail. I … up my tail each time. That is how I caught the fish. Good-bye, Mr. Rabbit. Good luck to you.

Rabbit: Good-bye. Thank you.

Boy: Fox …away. Rabbit sat down on a stone with his tail in the water…

VIII. Вопросы учителя по тексту. Проверка выполненного задания.

- What was the end of the story?

- Did the rabbit catch a fish? Why?

 IX. Презентация и защита диаграмм по теме урока 

(Некоторым ученикам даётся задание составить диаграмму на основе образца.

Ребята работают в течение урока.)

Предложения для диаграммы:

Affirmative: I visited my friend yesterday.

Negative: I did not visit my friend yesterday.

Interrogative: Did I visit my friend yesterday?


  1. Проверка индивидуального задания.

Teacher: Посмотрите на схему (диаграмму) и скажите, какая самая изменяемая часть в английском предложении.

Pupils: глагол.
