Цель урока: развитие социокультурной и информационной компетенции.
Задачи урока :
Воспитательные: укрепление интереса к предмету, воспитание уважительного отношения к зарубежной культуре.
Развивающие: организация учебного процесса как речемыслительного поиска, в котором идет развитие творческой деятельности, памяти, догадки, воображения, способности логически излагать, работать в группах и самостоятельно.
Образовательные: систематизация, обобщение и закрепление пройденного материала, тренировка в аудировании, говорении, расширении словарного запаса, совершенствование техники чтения.

T: Good morning boys and girls. Take your seats. Glad to see you. How are you?
I hope you had a little rest yesterday and now we are here to work again.

T: Did you go to any other places yesterday?
How often do you or your parents go to other towns, cities, countries?
Would you like to travel? What place would you choose, why?
I think, you’ve guessed what we‘re going to speak about.
About travelling.
Look at the screen. There’s a quotation about travelling. Read it. Do you agree with it? (слайд 1)
And what places have you already visited? (Ss give their answers)

T: Today I offer to make a tour to the country we’ve never been to. It’s a mysterious and attractive country we don’t hear often about. Look at the pictures. Do any of the sights seem to be familiar?

T:Can you name the country? Do, please.
Right you are. It’s a faraway land. It differs from the rest of the world. Do you know why?
Australia is an island, a continent and a country. By the way what is the capital of Australia? (It’s Canberra and unlike other capitals isn’t the biggest city.)
Today we’re making our way to Sydney. Why? A lot of travelers want to have new experiences. Read the headlines and guess what activities Sydney offer.
T: Open your books. Pay attention to the words in the brackets. What are we going to do with them?
What helps us understand the word form that we should derive? (the words before and after the gap.)
Look through the text. Write down the verbs in the brackets in your exercise – books and turn them into the correct derivatives. Then we’ll check up.

T: And now I want you to get some pleasure seeing a video about Sydney. Try to hear what sight are described in the video what tourists can do there and which of them are mentioned in the text.
