Краткая аннотация

Этот дидактический материал рекомендован для учащихся 5-6 классов. Он рассчитан на учащихся, изучающих английский язык на базовом уровне. Предтекстовые задания направлены на прогнозирование содержания, работу с новой лексикой. Текстовые задания направлены на закрепление базовых умений чтения, нахождения ответов на поставленные вопросы. Послетекстовые задания направлены на выявление понимания прочитанного развитие речевых умений на базе текста, закрепление новой лексики, развитие навыков воспроизведения прочитанного.

1. Read the text

One of the real pearl of The Golden Ring of Russia is Vladimir, an ancient Russian city. It stands on the left bank of the Klyazma River. Russian prince Vladimir the Red Sun founded Vladimir in 990.In 1108 another Russian prince Vladimir Monomach built a fortress on this place. In the 12th century Andrey Bogolyubskiy made Vladimir the capital of Vladimir-Suzdal prinsipality. Andrey Bogolyubskiy built a big white-stone tower heavy oak gates. In the sunlight those gates shone as if they were made of gold. That is why people became to call them golden gates. During the khan Batiy’s invasion these golden gates disappeared. Nowadays the Golden Gate is a museum. Of course, Vladimir is rich in ancient churches and cathedrals. But the Golden Gate has become not just a monument, but a well-known symbol of our city.
