Nowadays English has become the world`s most important language in politics, science, trade and cultural relations. Over 300 million people speak it as a mother tongue. English is one of the official languages in the Irish Republic, Canada, the South Africa Republic. English is one of the official languages of the United Nations Organization and other political organizations. Half of the world`s scientific literature is in English. It is the Language of computer technology. To know English today is absolutely necessary foe every educated person, for every good specialist. The English language is a wonderful language. It is the language of the great literature. It is the language of William Snakespeare, Jonathan Swift, Walter Scott, Charles Dickens. The great German poet Goethe once said, “He, who knows no foreign language, does not know his own one.” That is why in order to understand oneself and environment one has study foreign languages.

We can communicate with other people in many different ways. We can talk and write, and we can send messages with our hand and faces. Television, film painting and photography can also communicate ideas.

• In the 14-th century, the printing press helped develop new ways of thinking across Europe.

Radio, film, and television have had a huge influence on society in the last hundred years. And now we have the Internet, which is infinite.

But what is this going to us?

We can give and get a lot information very quickly. But there is so much information that it is difficult to know what is important and what isn`t.

I love my native language, but I think we must learn English language. In the 17^th century it was brought to North America by the first colonists. Then in the 18^th century English was brought to Australia, later on to Africa and India. So, English can be used for many different purposes and serve as a key to other cultures and their riches. Nowadays educated people ought to know English language.
