The Symbol of the British Empire

• Queen Victoria (1819 – 1901) was the monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 1837 until her death. Her reign of 63 years was a period of industrial, cultural, political, scientific, and military change within the United Kingdom, and was marked by a great expansion of the British Empire.

The Greatest Playwright

• The last half of the 16-century and the beginning of the 17-century are known as "The age of Shakespeare". William Shakespeare (1564-1616), is the greatest and the most famous of English writers and probably the greatest playwright. Shakespeare wrote 37 plays. His plays are still acted - not only in England, but also in the whole world.

Isaac Newton — the Great English Scientist

• Newton (1643-1727) was an English physicist and mathematician, and the greatest scientist of his era. He made a lot of discoveries-those of the differential calculuses, of the nature of white light and of the law of gravitation.He invented a mirror telescope. His single greatest work was ’Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy'.

Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson (1758 - 1805)

• Nelson was a British naval commander and national hero, famous for his naval victories against the French during the Napoleonic Wars. His most famous engagement, at Cape Trafalgar, saved Britain from threat of invasion by Napoleon, but it would be his last.

Queen Elizabeth II

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was just 25 when she acceded to the throne. She celebrated her Diamond Jubilee in 2012, making her one of Britain’s longest serving monarchs. Her Majesty the Queen was born on 21 April 1926 in London, the first child of Prince Albert, The Duke of York, and his wife, formerly Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.

Connery is best known for portraying the character James Bond, starring in seven Bond films between 1962 and 1983

Sir Alex Ferguson (1941) is a former Scottish football manager and player who managed Manchester United from 1986 to 2013. During his 26 years at the club, he won 38 trophies, including 13 Premier League and two UEFA Champions League titles.
