The Kachalov Academic Theatre of Russian Drama.
The Kazan Academic Theatre of Russian Drama, named after V. I. Kachalov, is one of the biggest drama theatres in Russia. Exquisite repertoire, based on the best works of Russian and world classical and modern plays, as well as up-to-date staging and producing, professional company, which includes a lot of perfect actors, have always been fond of experimenting and search. All that makes the theatre attractive and interesting for wide audience both in the Kazan city and in far-away regions.
Directed by People’s Artist of Russia Alexander Ya. Slavutsky, the theatre follows the traditions of Russian psychological theatre, trying to “tell the truth from the stage, no matter how bit it would be”, making a trustful dialogue with a spectator, bringing “pain of actor’s heart” to every role and every performance.
The Tinchurin Tatar State Theatre of Drama and Comedy.
The history of the theatre is bright and unique. Being established at the First All-Union Congress of Collective Farmers in 1933 on the initiative of Karim Tinchurin as a branch of the Tatar State Academic Theatre, the company experienced a long and difficult way of organization from a collective farm company to a republican mobile theatre, and, finally, to the Tatar State Theatre of Drama and Comedy, named after K. Tinchurin. In 1988 a building in Gorky Street was given to the theatre.
