Theme: Young people are music lovers

 Aims: 1. To introduce types of music

           2. To develop students’ oral and written communication skills  about music.

           3. To bring up feeling competition of between students.

Methods of teaching: dividing into groups, Pencil method, Informational-communicational method, direct method, hot chair

Visual aids: power point slide, real american coins, video. 

                                    Procedure of the lesson

I. Organization moment

a) Greeting

b) Duty’s report

 «Today we try to speak only in English, Deal… ?»

II. Phonetic drill

Tomorrow` s yesterday is today

And yesterday`s tomorrow is also today…

But

Today`s yesterday was yesterday`s today,

So…

Tomorrow`s today is today`s tomorrow…!

III. Checking up the home task:

What was your homework?

Who wants to read?

Anybody else…?

«I will evaluate with real American coins, if somebody in your group speaks in another language I will take back your coins.»

IV. New theme. Warm up questions:

1.Do you like music?
2.What kind of music do you like to listen?
3.Why do you like this kind of music?
4.What is your favourite band?
5.What is your favourite singer?

- Dividing into groups by counting: 1,2,3 (interdisciplinary communication)

1 group – classical music

2 group – rap music

3 group – folk music

-Informational communicational method

Work with copybook

«Write the specific information in  your copybooks»

- Use your phones to get information about types of music ( group work)

 Search about:1. classical music

                        2.  rap music

                        3. folk music

- Game  «Guess the melody»

1. There are 3 version that you can choose

2. You must choose one

3 Guess the name of song or author

VI. Additional exercise

Make up sentences using the following sentences

1 -Gaspel music, rock and roll, concert- goer, flute ,dombra

2 -Violin, blues, folk music, concert hall, popular

3 -Emotion, singer, composer, critic, record



VII. Homework: To write a short essay : «My favourite singer»

VIII. Evaluation: satisfactory, good, excellent

IX.Conclusion: The lesson is over bye!
