The city of London was narrow & dirty.
The streets were so narrow that a person at a window on one side of the street to shake hands with a neighbour on the other side.
The Plague broke out in 1665. The door was marked with a red cross.75.000 Londoners died in the epidemy.
The Fire broke out on a Saturday From September 2 to September 6.The summer had been dry, a hot east wind blew & fire spread quickly. The Thames was covered with boats full of people. People putting up tents.
The fire destroyed 80% of the city.
A monument near London Bridge still marks the spot where the fire broke out.
Sir Ch. Wren, the famous architect took part in rebuildings of the city.
The old church of St. Paul was rebuilt in its place where the present St. Paul’s Cathedral stands. Ch. Wren lies buried under the roof of the church. These words are written on his grave:

Five young tourists from Kazakhstan-Asel,Dana,Omar,Arman & Didar spent a week in London. They each went to a different place.One went to Buckingham Palace, one went to Harrods, one went to the Limelight Club, one visited Covent Garden, one visited the British Museum.
Asel didn’t go to the Limelight Club.She went early because of crowds of turests its difficult to see the Changing of the Guard.
