“EnglishlanguageCompetition”

Цель: проверить навыки чтения, говорения, письма; развивать навыки коммуникативного общения, творческие способности; прививать интерес к изучению английского языка; воспитывать навыки работы в команде.

Подготовка: учащиеся класса делятся на 3 команды, выбирают капитанов, придумывают названия команд, девизы, эмблемы, выпускают газеты.

Оборудование: мультимедийная система, карточки с заданиями, слайды с заданиями, презентация «Достопримечательности Лондона», аудиозаписи английских песен.

Procedure.

Teacher:

-Good afternoon, dear jury, our teams and guests!

You’re welcome to “English Language Competition”

Our aim is to show student’s knowledge not only English, but Literature and Geography as well, to widen outlook and encourage students to speak.

-Now I’d like to introduce our jury to you:

“ Artists’ competition”

Draw a picture to the text.

There is a big house in the middle of the picture. The house is blue with red roof. There are two windows and one door in the house. To the left of the house there is a green tree. To the right of the house there are two flowers. One flower is red, the second flower is blue.

1) The Tower Bridge. (The biggest bridge in London)

2)Trafalgar Square. ( The central square of the city. There is a statue of Admiral Nelson in the middle of Trafalgar Square).

3)The Baker street.( You can see here the Museum of the detective Sherlock Holmes, created by Arthur Conan Doyle).

4) Big Ben. (The biggest clock bell in Britain).

5) Buckingham Palace. (It is the official London residence of the Queen).

6) The Globe Theatre. (In this theatre William Shakespeare staged his famous plays).

7) The Tower of London. (It was a fortress, a prison and now it is a famous museum).

8) The London Eye.( It is the biggest attraction in the world).

9) Westminster Abbey. (Many great Englishmen were buried here: Newton, Byron, Darwin).
