Цели: развитие аудитивных, грамматических и лексических навыков; развитие интереса учащихся к изучению английского языка.
Содержание работы: урок-игра составлена в соответствии с требованиями, предъявляемыми к уровню подготовки по английскому языку учащимся
Задачи работы: в ходе игры проверяется уровень усвоения материала по теме, а также уровень сформированности лексико-грамматических навыков и умений учащихся по изученным темам.

Good afternoon Dear boys and girls and our guests! Attention, please.
If you want to take part in an exciting competition, show us your talents, be ready! Today we are having an interesting game «On the Wheels around the World». During this competition our jury will count points and put them down. Let’s introduce our jury…and our guests… Greet them. Two teams are going to compete now. Captains, be responsible and try to do everything for your teams (Eagles and Crows) to get the most points. I wish you good luck and success.
First stage Our first task will be A Quick Quiz in 3 languages. You are to answer 10 questions for only one minute. Now I think the teams are ready, and we shall start. Ready? Let’s start.

1. There are many old and new beautiful parks in London. This park is the largest one. It is one of the most popular places of Londoners during the hot summer days. The park is famous for its Speaker's corner. (Hyde Park)
2. It is one of the greatest English churches. It is not far from the Tower of London. The famous English architect Sir Christopher Wren built it in the 17-th century after the Great Fire. It is a fine building with many columns and towers. In one of the towers there is one of the largest bells in the world. (St. Paul's Cathedral)
3. It is more than 900 years old. There are many monuments and statues there, many English Kings and queens are buried there. It is famous for the Poet's corner. It is one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London. This church has two tall towers. (Westminster Abbey)
4. It is a giant transparent tent in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan. The architectural project was unveiled by the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on December 9, 2006. Underneath the tent, an area larger than 10 football stadiums, is an urban-scale internal park, shopping and entertainment venue with squares and cobbled streets, a boating river, shopping centre, minigolf and indoor beach resort. The fabric roof is constructed from ETFE-cushions provided by Vector Foiltec suspended on a network of cables strung from a central spire. The transparent material allows sunlight through which, in conjunction with air heating and cooling systems, is designed to maintain an internal temperature between 15–30 °C
5. The structure was built by Sembol Construction at a cost of 8.74 billion Kazakh tenge (about $58 million) and opened in late 2006. It was specially constructed to host the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. It contains accommodations for different religions: Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Daoism and other faiths. It also houses a 1,500-seat opera house, a national museum of culture, a new "university of civilization", a library and a research center for Kazakhstan's ethnic and geographical groups. 6. It is a monument and observation tower in Astana, Kazakhstan. A tourist attraction popular with foreign visitors and native Kazakhs alike, it is emblematic of the city, which became capital of the country in 1997.
7. It is a long grey building with towers. The large clock in one of the towers is known as Big Ben. You can hear the sound of Big Ben every hour in London. The clock and the bell got their names after Sir Benjamin Hall. The members of the British Parliament work in this building. (the Houses of Parliament)
Third stage Make up the words using the following letters. You'll get a star for a longest word and for the biggest quantity of words. You have two minutes.
Учащимся предлагается следующее задание: составить длинное слово из букв на кубиках. Для того, чтобы определить какие буквы учащиеся могут использовать, учитель рассыпает кубики. Для составления слова участники игры могут использовать буквы, которые расположены на верхних гранях кубиков. Обладатель самого длинного слова получает звезду. Обладатель самого короткого слова выбывает из игры.
Fours stage You'll get the maps of Astana and London with there’s places of interest. However, there are only pictures on them without names. Write their names.
По окончании задания работы проверяются членами жюри. Карта Астаны и Лондона с достопримечательностями и их названиями появляется на доске.

In a final game, the players will speak about any places of interest of Astana and London.
