Tom’s Fairy Holidays
Tom is a little boy. One day his dad brings him to his Granny’s for holidays.
‘Do you have anything to play with?’ asks Tom.
‘Sure I do!’ answers Granny and brings a big box. ‘These are the toys that your father and his sister played with,’ says Granny.
Tom takes the box and pulls out a kite, a balloon, a teddy bear, building blocks, a train, a car and a doll.

‘And I also have a bicycle for you,’ says Granny.
‘But I don’t like these toys,’ says Tom. ‘I usually play with my computer at home.’
‘Well,’ says Granny, ‘I must tell you a secret. If you imagine that you are in a fairytale, then the teddy-bear will become a giant that walks near an old castle. You can build the castle with the blocks. Let’s play!’
Tom starts to play with Granny. Very soon the kite becomes a flying dragon, the doll becomes a beautiful princess. Tom can see wonderful landscapes from the window of the toy train, as it moves through the fairytale land. Granny plays an old queen, a huge dragon, a kind magician. Even a bicycle becomes a beautiful white horse.

The holidays pass very quickly.
On their way home Tom says to his dad, ‘Granny is much more fun than a computer. Can I come back for the next weekend?”
