The plan of the lesson.

The theme: Reservation. Ordering a meal.

The aids: tables, cards.

The aims: 1. Revision of the Passive Voice.

                  2. to develop their writing, listening, speaking skills.

                  3. to bring – up their good manners of national hospitality. 

Procedure of the lesson:

  1. Org./m. Greeting!
  2. Warm – up : asking some words.
  3.  Reservation. Revision of the Passive Voice.

T: today we have a delegation from America. So we must meet and accommodate them. We also have a guide. Now let me introduce our guide to you. Her name is Alma. So let`s start our lesson.

Guide: Good morning! I`m your guide. My name`s Alma. You`re welcome! I`ve a list of some hotels. Here they are:  1. Bergman, 2. Embassy, 3. Empire, 4. Dostyk.

Bergman

    A small hotel of only 16 rooms. Situated in a quiet, residential area behind Vondel Park, it overlooks a small canal and the park itself. The bedrooms have their own shower, TV, and radio. Twin rooms with bath are available at a supplement. Although the hotel does not have  a restaurant or bar, the dining room is very pleasant and drinks are served on request.

Embassy

    Once a private house with a rich history, this hotel is highly recommended for the standard of its accommodation

    Because of the nature of the building all rooms are different, each with its own character, and they are on a number of levels. There are larger, superior rooms with a view of the canal.

    Downstairs you will find a quiet little bar and a small breakfast room. The hotel has no lift and some of the stairs are quite steep so please request a downstairs room if the stairs could be a problem. All rooms have private shower.

Empire

    An international deluxe hotel in one of Amsterdam`s most fashionable areas. The Empire has 250 guest rooms and suites which either overlook the canal. All the bedrooms have telephone, minibar, colour TV and hairdryer.

     The hotel has 2 restaurants “ The Veranda”, which serves international cuisine. The bar overlook the canal.  

Dostyk

    A big hotel of 115 rooms. It has 9 floors. Situated in a quiet, residential area. It has all modern facilities such as: 24 hours daily room service, coffee bars for quick meals and grill-rooms, beauty parlors, barber`s shops, laundry, dry cleaning. Among other  facilities, there are swimming pools, saunas, other recreation

facilities. Hotel can organize car hire sightseeing tours, entertainments.

Guide: you can choose one of them ( discuss them orally, students read information about hotels). After that the guide will offer them a bus to get to the hotel.

Guide: have you done? O`k. I can offer you a bus, because this hotel is far from here. Here is the bus, so let`s get on it. Be careful!

T: it`ll take us 20 minutes to get there. So, you should do some tasks. 1. Translate the sentences into English. 1. Translate the sentences into Kazakh.

  1. О?ан кіру визасы берілді.

  3. Ма?ан жа?а ж?мыс ?сынады.
  4. Барлы? б?лмелер тал?аммен ?шекейленген.

  1. She was being paied sixty dollars a week.
  2.  The rule was explained by the teacher.
  3.  We shall be shown many interesting things tomorrow.
  4.  The room was done by maid.
  5.  The young man was introduced to us.
  6.  The book was read by me.

Guide: we`ve reached the hotel. You must book  rooms. There is a reception desk and a receptionist.

Receptionist: hello! I`m a receptionist, my name`s Aida. What can I do for you?

Delegation: we`d like some rooms, please.

R: For how many people?

D: For 10

R: What kind of rooms would you like?

D: 4 single rooms, 3 double rooms.

R: When for and for how long?

D: For a day.

D: How much are the rooms?

R:  4000 tenge a day, including lunch.

D: Can we pay by a credit card?

R: Yes, of course. Could you register please?

D: Pardon?

R: Could you fill in the form please?

D: Oh, yes.

R: Here are your keys. The porter will take your luggages  to your rooms. Have a good stay!

D: Thank you.

P: Follow me, this way please.

D: What a beautiful hotel! It offers a lot of facilities such as: 24 hours daily room service, coffee bars for quick meals and grill – rooms, beauty parlors, barber`s shops, laundry, dry cleaning.

D:  I`m hungry. What about you?

  • So, we`re (the rest)
  • It`s high time to have a bite. Let`s go to the restaurant, shall we?
  • Yes, of course. Let`s go.
  • And where can we find it?

M: Hello! I`m a manager of this hotel. How do you like it here?

D: Everything is o`k. But, where can we find the restaurant?

M: On the ground floor. This way, please. Here it is. This is our administrator and this is our waiter. Now I`ll leave you here. Take your sits, please. See you later. Good bye!

A: Our  waiter will serve you. Now you may order your meals.

W. Here are your menus. We have national cuisine.

T: There is some share in this restaurant. You can have lunch free of charge.

Now, I`ll give you  tests. Your next task is make up dialogue. Here are some themes of the dialogue.

 Making acquaintance.

Let me introduce – разрешите представить вам

I have arrived – я приехал

Checking in.

 

I have reserved a room before hand – я заранее забронировал номер

I would like to receive a ….. – я хотел бы получить……

Do I pay in advance or on departure? – мне заплатить заранее или при отъезде?

 

Passport control.

What is the purpose of your visit? – цель вашей поездки?

The time of your stay? – на сколько вы остаетесь?

Where will you stay? – где вы остановитесь?

Here is my ….. – вот мой……

I have a unitary visa for …. Days – у меня есть однократная виза на….. дней

Have a good time – приятно провести время

Departure

I`m leaving….. – я уезжаю….

Prepare the account – приготовьте счет пожалуйста
