План-конспект внеклассного мероприятия по английскому языку в средней школе: "Learn English through movies and cartoons"

Ключевые слова: английский язык

Класс: 5,6,7.

Форма проведения: беседа.

Цели:

• совершенствование коммуникативных навыков учащихся;

• повышение интереса и мотивации учащихся к изучаемому языку.

Задачи:

• формирование организованности, активности, внимания и памяти в процессе просмотра видеоматериалов;

• развитие языковой догадки;

• работа над произносительной стороной речи;

• воспитание уважительного отношения учащихся к взглядам и мнениям друг друга.

Оснащение: проектор и экран, компьютер, ноутбук или интерактивная доска

для демонстрации презентации в Microsoft PowerPoint; распечатанный раздаточный материал по числу учеников.

Время: 50 минут.

План мероприятия

Мероприятие состоит из 4 взаимосвязанных этапов.

1. Организационный этап (5 минут)

Демонстрация презентации (Презентация, Слайды 1–3), (прил.1).

Учитель знакомит учащихся с темой мероприятия. Проводит языковую разминку.

2. Обсуждение того, почему полезно смотреть фильмы на английском. Практические советы по просмотру фильмов на английском. (15 минут)

Демонстрация презентации (слайды 4-15) в сопровождении:

1. рассказа учителя;

2. вопросов ученикам.

3. Просмотр эпизода «Puss in the boots Scene» из мультфильма «Shrek 2», выполнение заданий по просмотренному эпизоду и его обсуждение. (25 минут)

Учитель демонстрирует эпизод из мультфильма «Shrek 2». Учащиеся смотрят эпизод, затем выполняют упражнения и переходят к совместному обсуждению просмотренного.

4. Рефлексия, подведение итогов. (5минут)

Учитель подводит итоги. Учащиеся делятся впечатлениями о проведенном мероприятии: делают выводы, полезно ли смотреть мультфильмы (сериалы, фильмы) на английском и почему, вспоминают новые слова.

Ход мероприятия

В ходе мероприятия учитель демонстрирует презентацию, ведёт диалог с учащимися и предлагает выполнение заданий (прил.2) по просмотренному эпизоду (скрипт прил.3).

1. Организационный этап.

Учитель: Hello, boysandgirls. Today we have an unusual lesson. Today we are going to speak about how to watch movies, cartoons or TV-shows in English. But first I want to ask you some questions.

• Do you like watching movies/cartoons or TV-shows?

• Do you watch them in English or in Russian?

• Do you think it’s useful to watch films in English or it’s just a waste of time?

Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы учителя.

Учитель: When you learn English with movies, you’re taking a wild adventure. Howdoyouunderstandthisquote? 

Учащиеся рассуждают и предлагают свои варианты.

2. Обсуждение того, почему полезно смотреть фильмы на английском. Практические советы по просмотру фильмов на английском.

Учитель: Watching movies is a great way to learn how to speak English fluently. It is also one of the funniest ways that can be used while learning English. We will now discuss why watching movies is a great way to learn English! I’ll also give you some tips to help you to learn new words and phrases while you watch, from repeating phrases to watching with (and without) subtitles.

1. Speaking skills: Hearing natives accent helps our speaking skills, especially our fluency in speaking.

2. Pronunciation and listening skills: Hearing native English speakers’ conversation with each other can help to hear how words are pronounced and how to use the right intonation.

3. Vocabulary: Watching English movies is a great way to learn a lot of new words and expressions

4. Learning and having a lot of fun! After all, watching movies is supposed to be fun, right?

Let’s sum it up now. Why watching films is a great way to learn English? What other advantages or maybe disadvantages can be mentioned here?

Учащиеся слушают рассказ учителя, затем делают вывод по всему сказанному и размышляют о том, какие еще есть преимущества и недостатки у данного способа изучения английского языка.

Учитель: So, how can you learn while having so much fun with the film? Let’s speak about practice tips to really learn English with movies.

1. Choose an interesting movie.

This probably sounds obvious, but if you choose a boring movie, you’ll be bored. And if you’re bored, it will be difficult to pay attention for more than one and a half hours!

2. Choose a movie that matches your current English level.

For example, for beginners in English, I usually recommend you learn English through animations. The main reason is because the English is usually very friendly, nice and easy to understand.

3. Take your dictionary.

Сhoose a film with subtitles! So when you hear a word you’re interested in, check it up! Because you went through the trouble to understand it… you’ll be able to remember that word for a long time too!

4. Repeat short phrases!

Sometimes, you might hear something cool in the movie. For example, some short phrases, or slang like,  “sure thing” or “you betcha!” that are commonly used in English. If you like how it sounds, it really helps to repeat it! After saying it out loud a while, you will be able to remember it for a longer time! It’s a great and enjoyable exercise—one of my personal favorites.

5. Watch with and without subtitles.

I know it can be really challenging to watch a film in a foreign language without subtitles. So here’s my recommendation. When you watch a film the first time, just turn on subtitles. But if you get the chance to watch it a second time, try turning off subtitles.

6. It’s okay to miss words… just let it go.

Last of all, remember what we said in the start? Watching movies should be fun… so if you miss a word, a phrase, or even many sentences, that’s okay! Just follow along the subtitles and learn that way. Don’t feel bad… watching films is supposed to be fun!

Учитель: Now, when you understand why it’s important to watch films in English and know how to do it right, I offer you to watch an episode from the cartoon “Shrek 2”.

And who can tell me, how should we watch an episode for the first time? With subtitles or without it?

Before the first watching, please, look through the tasks 1-5 that we’re going to discuss later.

Учитель включает эпизод (скрипт прил.3).

Учащиеся смотрят эпизод и выполняют задания.

Учитель: And now let’s discuss some questions and to do some tasks.

Учащиеся совместно с учителем обсуждают вопросы 1-4 и проверяют задание 5.

Учитель: Great job! And now you are going to watch this episode again but this time without subtitles. Before watching, please, look through the tasks 6-10 that we’re going to discuss after.

Учащиеся готовятся к просмотру эпизода во второй раз, просматривая задания 6-10 (прил.2).

Учитель включает эпизод (скрипт прил.3).

Учащиеся смотрят эпизод и выполняют задания.

Учитель: And now let’s discuss the next questions and check the last task.

Учащиеся совместно с учителем обсуждают вопросы 7-10 и проверяют задание 6.

Учитель: Well done! And now let’s have some fun! I need 3 volunteers to do last task for today. Your task is to watch the one-minute episode that I’m going to show you. Listen to it very carefully and pay attention to the intonation. Then I switch off the sound and you task to copy the character’s intonation.

Учащиеся озвучивают героев в течении одной минуты, предварительно посмотрев выбранный учителем эпизод (скрипт прил. 4).

4. Рефлексия, подведение итогов.

Учитель: So, we have some minutes to discuss our lesson. What was the topic? What new words did you learn today? Thank you foryour work. Goodbye!

Учащиеся делятся впечатлениями о мероприятии, отвечают на вопросы учителя.
