Методическая разработка открытого мероприятия по английскому языку (ролевая игра) "All rise! Court is in session"
Данное мероприятие проводится в 10 классе в качестве дополнения к 3 разделу "Человек - дитя природы" УМК «Английский язык: учебник для 10 класса школ с углубленным изучением английского языка, лицеев и гимназий» О.В. Афанасьевой, И.В. Михеевой, изд. «Просвещение», 2014. Основной целью мероприятия является демонстрация знаний, умений и навыков разных видов речевой деятельности, а также усвоение определённых гражданско-правовых норм. Наверняка, многие из Вас смотрели такую передачу, как “Час Суда”. Данный урок является аналогом этой передачи, но на английском языке. А в роли судей, обвиняемых и истцов выступают сами учащиеся. Ценность мероприятия и в том, что оно формирует гражданскую и социально-правовую активность учащихся, учит анализировать и давать оценку поступкам, коллективно находить пути решения проблемы. Дети развивают умения выражать свою точку зрения, личное отношение к проблеме, аргументировать свое высказывание на английском языке. Нельзя не отметить, что осуществляется развитие творческих способностей учащихся, что делает работу более плодотворной и увлекательной.
С уверенностью могу сказать, что подготовка и проведение данного мероприятия были крайне интересными и познавательными как для учащихся, так и для меня. Учителя, посетившие этот урок, были приятно удивлены.

Урок-суд - ролевая игра для учащихся10 класса
Основная цель: учащиеся должны продемонстрировать знания, умения и навыки разных видов речевой деятельности, а также усвоить определённые гражданско-правовые нормы.
Задачи урока:
1. Лингвистические: развитие и скрытый контроль речевого умения.
2. Когнитивные: развитие способностей к осуществлению продуктивных речевых действий, к логическому изложению; развитие умения определять и формулировать собственные пути; решения проблемы; развитие умения выражать свою точку зрения, личное отношение к проблеме, аргументировать свое высказывание; развитие способностей к подбору выражений, адекватных ситуации; развитие творческих способностей учащихся.
3. Социальные: формирование гражданской и социально-правовой активности учащихся через интерактивное общение; формирование дисциплинированности как формы проявления на практике усвоенных правовых норм; развитие навыков школьного самоуправления, умения анализировать и давать оценку поступкам, коллективно находить пути решения проблемы.

Секретарь:All rise! The court is in session!
Женя: Thank you, sit down please. Today we are trying a case of Missis Hudson. On the 7th of February, 2014 she was trying to steal some food from the supermarket.
The participants of the court hearing are:
Mr. Rodgers – the claimant
Missis Hudson – the defendant
Ms. Marple – the lawyer
Mr. Brown – the neighbor
Miss Jenkins – the prosecutor
Ms. Smith – the judge
Are the participants all here?
The first word is given to the prosecutor.
Лена:Your Honor let me introduce you this case. Defendant, Mrs. Hudson, who is sitting here now, was trying to steal products from the supermarket "Key mart". The sum of detriment is rather large - 2000 rubles. She was caught by a woman (a customer) and we've got some photos from the video cameras in the market, here we can see them.

I suppose they are quite strong evidences. As you know, we have the Law, which people must obey, if they don't, we will punish them. Mrs. Hudson’s action is a crime, so she must go to prison.
Женя: Ms. Marple, do you have anything to say?
Даша: Yes, Your Honor, thank you. Despite the fact that we can’t deny the theft, my client had strong reasons to commit that crime and I ask you to take into account the following facts. Our defendant became a victim of circumstances. Let me prove it. Only a year ago my client had an ideal family: a careful and loving husband with a highly-paid job, three happy and cheerful children. (фото) But, your Honor, our life and happiness are so fragile! One day, Mrs. Hudson’s sister with husband went to visit their friends and left their two children at Mrs. Hudson’s. Unfortunately, there happened a car accident and both of them were deadly injured. As the children did not have other relatives Mrs. Hudson had to adopt them. So, now the Hudsons’ have five children! (фото) But it wasn’t a problem at all, the family was rather wealthy. Unfortunately, six months ago her husband lost his job. That is why they had to sell sister’s apartment to keep the children and themselves. Half a year later the money was over. Hard times came to the family. Mr. and Missis Hudson did their best to get some food and money (had odd jobs, tried to find full-time job, borrowed money from friends). Nevertheless, it wasn’t enough and my defendant was totally desperate and had to resort to such an illegal act.
Лена: Your Honor, they are not extenuating circumstances! If she has 5 children, she must be an example to them, as we can see, she is not.
Даша: Objection! Your words do not have any proofs that she is not an example for her children. And to disprove this fact I have a witness. Your Honor, let me invite Mr. Brown, the Hudsons’ neighbor.
So, what would you say about Mrs. Hudson.
Сережа: Well, I have known Missis Hudson for a long time because we are neighbors. So I see her every day. She is a beautiful and tidy woman. They live in clean conditions. I have never seen her beating or shouting at her children. She is a loving and caring mother - always goes for a walk with the children, helps them to do their homework, buys toys and games for them. I have never heard a scandal in her house because she is a calm and staid woman. And to my mind they are a perfect family. I can’t believe that she could steal products from a supermarket. The only reason why she did it is her children - she didn’t have money to buy products because they are very expensive!
Лена: Sorry, Mr. Brown, I have a question to you. If you know Mrs. Hudson for such a long time and have so close and warm relations, why didn't YOU help her and give her some products, when she and her family were in such a difficult situation?
Сережа: I would surely help her if I were in town but I was on a business trip and came back two days ago.
Лена:I have no questions.
Даша: No questions.
Женя:Mr. Rodgers, do you have anything to say?
Костя:On the 8th of February in the supermarket that belongs to me Mrs. Hudson tried to steal products for the sum of 2000 rub. The side of defense wants to convince us, that she committed this crime only because of her love to children and because of desire to protect them. I understand the situation very well but what will be with my business, if every poor person in our town steals products with impunity?
Женя:Thank you, Mr. Rodgers. And now let’s start the pleadings. Ms. Jenkins, you are welcome.
Лена: Your Honor, shoplifting is rather a common crime and people commit it on different reasons. The reasons we’ve heard here are rather weighty and taking them into account I ask you to sentence Mrs. Hudson instead of 5 months to 3 months in prison. Thank you.
Даша:Your Honor, I claim that my defendant is innocent. She is a victim of circumstances and couldn’t find another way out when her children were starving! And if she goes to prison now, no one will be able to take care of the children. That’s why I would like you to call the defendant innocent. Thank you.
Женя:Thank you Ms Jenkins, thank you Ms Marple. Defendant, do you have anything to say?
Настя: Your Honor, I understand that I am guilty. And I agree that it’s impossible behavior! But my babies were so hungry and they looked at me with their eyes full of tears! I had nothing to do and I committed the crime. Please, try to understand me. I swear it will not happen again.
Женя: The Court is ready to pass its sentence. Taking into account all the circumstances I sentence Mrs. Hudson to social work in the supermarket "K-mart" for a month. The sentence is final and carries no right of appeal.
