Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку FAMOUS BRITISH Quiz 1 разработано для учащихся 6-7 классов. Викторина страноведческого характера имеет целью мотивацию к дальнейшему изучению английского языка, активизацию знаний по теме, в том числе полученных на уроках географии, литературы, биологии и других, тренировку универсальных учебных действий, развитие  коммуникативной компетенции, а также формирование навыков работы в группе и самоорганизации.

В начале занятия класс делится на 2-3 группы, выбирается жюри, которое будет вести подсчет очков.

1 Great Britain has always been rich in talented people. This country is known for a great number of  famous writers and scientists, explorers and politicians. Let us see if you know some of them well.

The first task is rather easy. You are to put the following names

Francis Drake, William Shakespeare, Isaac Newton, James Cook, Charles Darwin, Charles Dickens, Margaret Thatcher, Winston Churchill, Alexander Fleming, Alexander Bell, Robert Burns, Walter Scott, Arthur Conan Doyle, Robert Louis Stevenson, David  Livingstone, Jonathan Swift, Oscar Wilde, Agatha Christie, Oliver Cromwell.

 into four groups:

Writers

Scientists

Explorers

Politicians

2 These are not all famous people of  Britain. The list is endless: Charlie Chaplin and John Lennon, Princess Diana and George Bernard Show,  Michael Faraday and Florence Nightingale… They are people from different parts of Great Britain, they lived and worked in different centuries but all of them were people of duty. They knew a lot. What exactly do you know about them? Try and fill in the table:

W. Shakespeare, Princess Diana, I. Brunel (a famous engineer who designed railroads, bridges, tunnels and ships), W. Churchill, O. Cromwell, Ch. Darwin, I. Newton, Queen Elisabeth I, John Lennon, Admiral Nelson.

Try to put the names in the order British people arranged them in 2002.

5 To sum up, let each of you tell what new things you’ve learnt.

Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку FAMOUS BRITISH Quiz 1 разработано для учащихся 6-7 классов.
