Dear teachers and pupils! We invite you in our intellectual party «My motherland - KAZAKHSTAN» between groups 8 ^a and 8 ^b forms.

In our party is present the student of college Almaty city Andronova Nina. She learned very well in our school. She fond of English, she will be the interpreter of English and Kazakh languages.

The 1 task of our party: Speaking about flag of

Kazakhstan.

«The national flag of the country consists of a light blue field at the centre of which there is yellow sun framed by the wings of a flying eagle, also, in yellowу with a vertical stripe of national ornamentations near the hoist».

The 2 task of our party: Speaking about geographical situation of Kazakhstan.

«The Republic of Kazakhstan is situated in the Central Asia. The area of Kazakhstan is 2753000 square kilometers. Kazakhstan is the largest state in the Central Asia. It extends some 1900 kilometres from the Volga River in the West to the Altai Mountains in the East and about 1300 kilometres from the Siberia plain in the North to the Central Asia deserts in the South. Kazakhstan borders China, Russia_y Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kirgizia. There is long border coast line on Caspian sea in the Southwest

The 3^th task of our party: Speaking about climate of

Kazakhstan.

«The climate of the country is strongly continental. It is cold winter and hot summer. Rain usually falls in spring and autumn. Snow falls in all areas but not the same time. In the south snow falls in October or November in the north it falls as rule in September or October. Sudden cold winds and snowfalls in winter often cause troubles for people. In spring green grass and flowers of different colours cover flat lands and hills».

The 4 task of our party: Speaking about population of

Kazakhstan.

«Population of the Kazakhstan is about 16 million. The population lives mostly in towns and cities and large villages».

The 5^th task of our party: Speaking about the Kazakh traditions and customs – Nauryz.

«The most important Kazakh holy day of the year «Nauryz» - the Kazakh New Year. On March 22^nd people from smaller villages come to bigger cities. Families get together to help one another on constructing a «yurt» which is the traditional Kazakh home. As a guest will sit at a long low table and eat such Kazakh dishes as «karta», «plov», «baursak», «besbarmak».

The 6 task of our party: Rivers and lakes in

Kazakhstan

«There are a few rivers and lakes in Kazakhstan. The four rivers are the main resources of water in the country. They are Irtish, in the east, Syr-Darya in the southwest, Illi in the southeast and Ural in the northwest of the country. The largest lakes are Balhash, Zaisan, Ala-Kol and Tengis».

The 7^th task of our party: The capital of Kazakhstan

-ASTANA.

«Astana (the former Akmola) was founded in 1830 as a fortification of Russian Empire. In 1862 stanitsa Ak-mola got the status of a town. For a long time Akmola was an outpost of Russian Empire seeking the way to develop trade and its political influence upon Central Asia in XVIII-XIX centuries. In March 1917 the Soviet Power was established in Akmola. Akmola has become a new capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. There are a lot of magnificent beautiful buildings, higher educational establishments, colleges and secondary schools, hotels, banks and other commercial structures in Astana. There are man places of interest in Astana: the Central Square and the Trelinniks Avenue, the Palace of the Youth and Bridge across the Ishim River, the Reginal Museum of Fine Arts

and others».
