Contest of English songs "X-Factor" for the 8th and 9th grade students. 

Внеклассное мероприятие, которое можно проводить во время недели английского языка. Ученики готовят песни на английском языке. Цель мероприятия:

- Развивать навыки аудирования, говорения, чтения стихов и пения на английском языке.

- Расширять кругозор (углублять знание английской и американской поэзии и музыки), прививать интерес к культуре стран изучаемого языка, их поэзии, песенному творчеству.

Быстро и объективно проверять знания учащихся.
Сделать изучение нового материала максимально понятным.

Contest of English Songs “X-Factor”

For the 8th and 9th grades students

Aims:

  • Students will improve their singing skills

  • They will show their talents

  • The contest will promote interest in the culture

SWBAT:

  • Sing English songs

  • Improve creative and descriptive skills

  • To raise students' awareness of popular English songs and singers

The procedure of the concert:

  1. Organization moment (Greeting) 5 min.

  2. Introducing the members of jury and participants 5 min.

  3. Theatrical performance of “Ertostik and the Dragon” 10 min.

  4. All 16 participants demonstrate their abilities in singing (50 min.)

  5. Theatrical performance of “Jack and Beanstalk”

  6. The jury counts the points and give their comments

  7. Evaluation

  8. Conclusion

Student A: - Good morning dear teachers, students and talented participants of our great event “X-Factor” of #54 School-lyceum! We are glad to see you here today!

Student B: - You are welcome! We wish you to have fun and enjoy the performances of our participants!

Student A: - We take English for granted. Could you tell me, why are you learning English?

Student B: - Firstly, it is the language of international communication. Secondly, there is a proverb: "A new language is a new world".

Student A: I quite agree with you! Now let us get started! The X Factor is a music competition to find new singing talents. Moreover, today we will find our great “X-Factor”

Student B: Let us invite our respectful participants! They are:

(Student B introduces and then invites students one by one.)

Student A: Now I’d like to introduce the members of jury to you today. They are:__________.

Student B: While our talents are preparing for their performances, we are happy to announce you that there are some special guests on our stage today. They are the winners of the theatrical contest. Let us invite them!

Student B: Nice Job! Thank you very much!

It was cool! Thanks a lot!

Amazing! Good job!

Student B: Thank you very much for your participation! Let us listen to our jury’s comments about the concert we had today and the scores each singer gained.

Student A: Thank you. Next word is given to a (members of Jury comment the performances)

Student B: We have one more surprise for you, dear students! They are well-known gifted actors and actresses! Enjoy the following theatrical performance “Jack and Beanstalk”

Student A:

In conclusion, we would like to say that our competition is over. Thanks a lot to our teachers and participants for such a brilliant work! We wish you to be as wonderful as you are now!
