Pre-listening

Teacher shows a PPT slide and explains to learners that they should listen and complete the dialogue with the verbs in the past simple

While - listening

Listen to the dialogue and complete the dialogue use the following verbs was/ were
- Where ______________ you yesterday?
- I ______________ at a party.
- ______________ there a lot of people?
- Yes, there ______________ a lot of my friends and relatives.
- ______________ the party fun?
- No, it ______________. It ______________ very boring.
- Why ______________ it boring?
- Because you ______________ there.
- I’m sorry but I ______________ very busy at work yesterday. And, anyway, I ______________ invited.

Teacher monitors learners work and checks pronunciation and meaning.

Learners read the dialogue.

Learners listen and check their answers.

Post – Listening

Learners should act short conversation. They should call a friend and invite him/her to the party.
