Прогноз погоды

Цели урока: развитие навыков аудирования, монологического высказывания по теме «Прогноз погоды».

Оборудование: записи на доске; магнитофон.

Задачи урока:

1. Познакомить учащихся со структурами "It is 6 above (below) .zero; It is plus (minus) 6 degrees (69 °) Centigrade (Fahrenheit) и обеспечить их отработку в серии речевых упражнений.

2. Развивать умение на слух воспринимать информацию, передаваемую с помощью несложного текста, и выражать свое понимание в требуемой форме.

3. Развивать умение вести диалог-расспрос; учить запрашивать и сообщать информацию в соответствии с поставленной коммуникативной задачей.

4. Практиковать учащихся в умении кратко высказываться в соответствии с предложенной ситуацией и на заданную тему.

5. Развивать умение письменной речи с целью решения предложенной коммуникативной задачи.

6. Развивать умение выбирать необходимые вербальные средства для решения поставленной коммуникативной задачи в устной и письменной форме.

Приветствие

Today you will learn to forecast weather. That's why we need to pronounce some new words correctly.

Centigrade ['sentigreid] - шкала температур;

Celsius ['selsias] — Цельсий;

Fahrenheit|’faerenhait] - шкала температур по Фаренгейту;

temperature - температура;

above zero - выше нуля;

below zero— ниже нуля;

degree [di'gri:] - градус;

forecast ['fo:ka:st] - прогноз погоды; прогнозировать погоду.

Read the information about the temperature on p. 8, ex. 15. Remember it. What scale is used in Russia (Britain, the USA)?

(In Russia temperature is measured in Celsius. In Britain both scales are used: Celsius and Fahrenheit. In the USA temperatures are measured in Fahrenheit.)

1) Convert Fahrenheit to Celsius.

2) Convert Celsius to Fahrenheit.

Model: Minus 10 degrees Centigrade is equal to 14 ° F.

Key: I think it's 10 ° С (plus 10 degrees Centigrade) 50 °F = (50-32): 1,8 = 10°C.

As you know how to say the temperature and what kind of weather there can be learn to forecast weather. See the table in ex. 19, p. 9. Listen to the weather forecast and tick the right box. Report to the class what weather will be tomorrow. (In the morning it will be wet and cloudy. The temperature will be from 17 to 20 degrees Celsius above zero. In the afternoon it will be sunshine with a light wind. The temperature will be plus 56—60 degrees Fahrenheit.)

Tapescript:

It will wet and cloudy in the morning, about + 17-20 ° F.

But in the afternoon the weather will change for the better: sunshine and a light wind.

It will get much warmer: + 56-60 ° F. A lovely dry autumn day, isn't it?

• Work in pairs. Use the table in Ex. 16 and discuss the weather in different cities.

• Work in pairs now. Discuss the weather in our place yesterday, today and tomorrow. First of all read the examples in ex. 21 on p. 9. Pay attention to the structure used to speak about today, yesterday and tomorrow. Help me to make up questions. See ex.20.
