Темаурока: Which is faster?
Тип урока: урок систематизации знаний
Цели: научить детей структуризации полученного знания, развивать умение перехода от частного к общему и наоборот, научить видеть каждое новое знание, повторить изученный способ действий в рамках всей изучаемой темы.
Задачи:
1) образовательная (предметная): - to compare animals and things; -to revise some nouns identifying animals; ---to introduce some new nouns identifying animals; -to revise adjectives associated with animals; - to consolidate comparative and superlative adjectives.
2) развивающая (метапредметная): развивать умение перехода от частного к общему и наоборот, развивать умение работать самостоятельно и в паре, сравнивать, оценивать.
3) воспитательная: воспитывать интерес к миру животных, стремление к взаимодействию с партнером и взаимопомощи.
Оборудование: презентация, карточки для работы в парах, мяч.
Ходурока.
1.Warming-up. Good morning, students. Today we are going to have an unusual lesson, as we have some quests in our classroom. Let’s show how effectively we can work at our lessons.
a) Revision of comparative adjectives. Look here. You can see two famous people on the screen:
- Who of them is younger? - Who of them is taller? - Who is better at sport? - Who is more hard-working? - Who is friendlier? - Who is more popular in Russia? (America)
Какую форму прилагательных мы использовали для сравнения этих двух людей?
b) Revision of superlative adjectives. Look at your classmates.
- Who is the tallest student in your class? - Who is the most hard-working student in your class? - Who is the most beautiful in your class? - Who is the most handsome? - Who is the funniest in your class? Какие прилагательные мы использовали в нашем разговоре, сравнивая одного человека с группой?
2) Brainstorming activity. Revision of nouns identifying animals. What animals can you name in English, students? (Hot potato game.) When you get a ball you should name an animal in English. If you can’t remember it, pass the ball to another student. (Students play for 3 minutes).
3) Introduction of the objective of the lesson. Students, what sort of revision have we just done?
-We have revised how to compare people. При этом мы с вами сравнивали людей в двух различных ситуациях: а) мы сравнивали двух людей друг с другом — у кого данное качество проявляется сильнее; б) мы сравнивали одного человека с группой — у кого данное качество проявляется сильнее всего. -We have revised the names of animals in English. What are we going to do next? We are going to compare animals!!!
4) Introduction of new nouns identifying animals. Pronunciation practice. Let’s learn the names of some more animals: Listen to record 65 for ex. 1, page 68. -Listen and repeat. -Read and match. --Read once again paying attention to pronunciation. -Name the animals in the pictures on the screen.
5) Listening and reading. “Animal quiz”. We are going to test our knowledge of the animal world.
Listen to record 66. It's the “Animal quiz”.
Read. Think about the answers to the questions.
Pay attention to the words:
fast dangerous intelligent strong
What part of speech are they? What do they mean?
6) Pair work. Writing and Listening.
- Work with your deskmate in pairs. Write your answers like in the model: A tortoise is faster than a snail. A cheetah is the fastest animal. Pay attention – superlative or comparative.
- Listen to record 67 and check your answers.
7)Grammar spot. Consolidation of grammar: Comparative and Superlative adjectives. Students pay attention to the box on the screen and analyse it.
Comparative.
A tortoise is faster than a snail. A cobra is more dangerous than a scorpion.
Superlative.
A cheetah is the fastest animal. A mosquito is the most dangerous insect.
Students make conclusions (the use of suffix -er and more; suffix -est and most;than and the).
8) Practice 1. Students, now read and analyse the sentences in ex 4, page 69. Где ситуация сравнения? Где ситуация превосходства? Use the comparative or superlative of the adjective in brackets. (Students complete ex 4 with necessary forms.)

9) Practice 2. Writing. Students, we are going to have more practice. Get individual cards and complete them. Compare your results with the screen.

10) Present your projects.
Учащиеся демонстрируют свои проекты о знаменитых спортсменах.
11) Revision of the objective of the lesson.
- Какова была цель урока? - Достигли ли мы её? - Что вы узнали? - Чему научились?
