The aims of the lesson
Educational: a) to enrich pupils knowledge in grammar, to study present perfect b) to teach pupils to talk about situations using time expressions
Developing: a) to develop pupils` speaking, writing, reading and critical thinking b) to develop communicative skills and abilities.
Bringing- up: a) to increase their interest in learning English, to teach to respect the language they speak
The type of the lesson: combined lesson
Method of the lesson: presentation, explanation, demonstration
Visual aids: slides, cards, pictures of places of interests
Procedure of the lesson:
I. Organization moment:
a) greeting b) asking about the dates, absentees, speak about the weather c) Explanation of the lesson objectives.
II. Checking –up the home task
Ex 6 p.81 To complete the sentences using Present perfect +ever and never
Speak about the outdoor and indoor activities
What kind of outdoor activities do you know?
Have you ever tried climbing (sailing, canoeing, surfing) ?
Can you think of other indoor activities? You`ve one minute
III. Warm -up
Answer the questions. Have you ever been to London? What is London Eye? What places of interests are there in London?
Pupils look at the slides tell about the places of interests in London
Brainstorming.
Look at the board and find the correct answer
a) London is the capital of … (England)
b) … lives in Buckingham Palace.(The Queen of England)
c) The name of the biggest clock in Britain is … (Big-Ben) d) London is situated on … (The Thames)
IV. Presentation: Introducing the new theme
a) Grammar Present perfect +forand since , How long …? +time expressions.
b) To listen to the conversation We`ve been here for hours!
a) Key Grammar
- We use the present perfect +for to show the period of time.
e.g. They`ve been here for five minutes.
- We use the present perfect +since to say when the period of time started.
e.g. They`ve been there since Monday.
b) Reading and speaking. Listen to the conversation and answer the questions. Ex 2 b p82
1) Is Ana going to meet Jay in Hyde Park this Evening ?
2) Where are Ana and Jay?
V. Practice
1) Complete the sentences using the right form of the verb, and for and since.
