Урок – игра по английскому языку

«Волшебный лабиринт» по англоязычным странам.

Цели:

Образовательные:

• контроль знаний о теме «English- speaking countries»;

• совершенствовать навыков аудирования;

• Совершенствование лингвострановедческой компетенции обучающихся.

Развивающие:

• углубление знаний обучающихся о стране изучаемого языка (создание условий для «диалога культуры»);

• развитие лингвистической догадки;

• расширение кругозора , в том числе и за счет информации о странах изучаемого иностранного языка.

Воспитательные:

• воспитание уважительного отношения к истории и культуре стран изучаемого языка;

• формирование устойчивого интереса к предмету.

• Воспитание умения работать в команде.

Форма проведения:

• Заочное путешествие.

Оборудование: макет автобуса, политическая карта, карточки с заданиями, кроссворд, карта лабиринта, на которой схематично изображаются этапы от начала и до конца, индивидуальная карта оценивания, призы.

Ход урока.

1.Организационный момент

- Good morning!

-We are glad to see you.

-Today we shall have a competition of 4 teams.

The topic of our competition is “Travelling”.

При входе в аудиторию обучающимся предлагается вытянуть билет определенного цвета. Затем обучающиеся рассаживаются по группам, согласно цветовым гаммам. (На столах макеты автобусов разных цветов)

Преподаватель знакомит обучающихся с правилами игры.

Правила игры:

1. Движение по заданному маршруту. (Карта лабиринта)

2. Заполнение маршрутных листов после каждого конкурса. (Лист самооценивания)

I.конкурс «Звуковая культура речи»

Задание: Распределите слова по 5 группам, согласно фонетических признаков, воспроизведите их по памяти.

Country, capital, occupation, population, ocean, river, city, attend, interrupt, request, cruise, luggage, boating, excursion

Разминка: Чтение стихотворения в автобусе. (макет автобуса)

Текст для первой группы «THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA»

The United States of America covers the central part of North America. The country borders on Canada in the north and on Mexico in the south. It also has a seaborder with Russia.
The country is washed by 3 oceans: The Arctic, the Atlantic and the Pacific. The country has many lakes, including the Great Lakes and many rivers, the longest of which are the Mississippi, the Missouri, the Columbia and others. The highest mountains are the Rocky Mountains, the Appalachian, the Cordillera and the Sierra Nevada. The highest peak, Mount McKinley, is in Alaska.
The climate conditions are rather various. The country is rich in natural and mineral resources: oil, gas, iron ore, coal and various metals.
The country population is over 250 mln. The official language of the state is English.
Officially the country comprises 50 states and 1 District of Columbia. The capital of the USA is Washington. It is situated in the District of Columbia on the banks of the Potomac River . There are many large cities in the country: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, San Francisco, Boston and some others.
Nowadays the USA is one of the leading powers of the world due to its economic, political and military influence.

Great Britain is an island lying off the north-western coastline of Europe. The official name of Great Britain is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Great Britain is the name of the major island of the United Kingdom including England, Scotland and Wales; the United Kingdom, or the UK comprises Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The greater part of the land is flat. There are plenty of short rivers in Great Britain; the Severn is the longest one, while the Thames is the deepest and the most important one.
The UK is a highly developed industrial country too, known as a producer and exporter of machinery, electronics, ships, aircraft and navigation equipment.
The capital of the UK is London, in England. The capital of Wales is Cardiff, and the Scottish capital is at Edinburgh; the capital of Northern Ireland is Belfast.

Australia, or the Commonwealth of Australia, as it is officially called, is situated on the island continent. The continent of Australia is situated between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.

It is the only state in the world that occupies the territory of a whole continent. 
The capital of Australia is Canberra, which became the capital only in 1927. 
The official language of Australia is English. 
As for the nature, the commonest trees of Australia are the eucalyptus and the Australian acacia or mimosa, the national emblem of the country. Such unusual animals as a kangaroo or a koala-bear originate from Australia. 
Australia is one of the most unusual and exotic countries of the world. A significant feature of modern Australian society is the representation of a lot of cultures drawn from many lands by its people. The population of Australia is about 19 million people.
Historically part of the British Empire and now a member of a Commonwealth of Nations, it is a relatively prosperous and independent nation. 

There are not very cities in Australia. The largest and the most famous city is Sydney. It was the capital of Olimpic games in 2000.

Canada is situated on the north of Northern America, washed by the Atlantic Ocean in the east, the Pacific Ocean in the west, and the Arctic Ocean in the north. In the south and in the north Canada borders on the USA. Canada's territory is the world's second largest country, surpassed in size only by Russia. Canada is slightly larger than the US. It is an important manufacturer, and its major cities, such as Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg are centres of commerce and industry.

The climate of Canada varies from temperate in the south to subarctic and arctic in the north. The highest Canadian point is Mount Logan 5,959 m. The population of Canada is about 32 million people. There are two state languages: English and French. English is spoken by 60 % of population; French is spoken by 23 % of people.

Most of Canada's inhabitants live in the southern part of the country and vast areas of the north are sparsely inhabited.

Among the great rivers of Canada there are the Saint Lawrence River, draining the Great Lakes and emptying into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence; the Ottawa and the Saguenay rivers, the principal affluent of the Saint Lawrence River; the Saint John River, emptying into the Bay of Fundy.

The government type is confederation with parliamentary democracy. The capital of Canada is Ottawa.

VI Конкурс «Диалогический»

Задание: Выберите собеседника (разбейтесь по парам).Воспроизведите диалог «Ориентация в Лондоне» о наиболее понравившихся достопримечательностях (примерный диалог)

VI. Рефлексия урока. Подведение итогов.

В конце путешествия обучающиеся сдают листы самооценки и выражают свое мнение к уроку, используя цветные стикеры.
