Unusual islands and hotels
Тема урока: Необычные отели и острова.
Тип урока: урок усвоения новых знаний (с использованием ИКТ).
Форма урока: фронтальная, парная, индивидуальная.
Цель урока: развитие умений аудирования и чтения
Задачи:
- образовательные: активизировать лексику по теме, провести практику устной речи на основе материала изучаемой темы, тренировать учащихся в чтении про себя и вслух, учить составлять связный текст.
- развивающие: развивать память, внимание, логическое мышление, эмоциональную сферу личности, развивать умения применять полученные знания в конкретной ситуации.
- воспитательные: формировать познавательный интерес к культуре и истории страны изучаемого языка, воспитывать культуру общения.
1. Организационныймомент
- Good morning, boys and girls, sit down please. Glad to see you.
- How are you today?
I’m fine (sad, well, so-so)
2. Экспозиция
I see that you are in a good mood, and I have some pictures for you. Let’s look at them.
- We have got a mixed sentence from your words. Put the words into correct order.

3. Введение новых лексических единиц
As you understand, today we speak about summer, holidays, islands, tourists.
And to speak about, we need new words and expressions. Try to describe them.
What is “tourism industry”? (the business of providing services for tourists)
What is “tourism”? (development of tourist attraction)
What is “way of life”? (how people live – their habits, traditions)
What is “change for the better”? (when something good happens)
What is “change for the worse”? (when something bad happens)
4. Говорение (описаниекартинки)
Now we have new words and we can go on.
- Look at the picture of this modern town in the South Pacific. What do see in the picture?
Use the constructions “there is/there are”.
(There are a lot of tourists there. I can see two yachts (/jɒt/). There are palms. There are new houses, multi-stored buildings).
5. Аудирование (слушают текст у. 10, стр. 66)
You described it well, and I suggest you to listen to the text about Pacific Islands. After listening, answer the question “Have some islands in the South Pacific changed? Why?”
(Слушают текст, отвечают на вопрос)
(Yes, they have. People don’t catch fish and grown food, they go to cafes, restaurants, supermarkets. A lot of tourists go there – there is tourism. Islanders live in flats, multi-stored buildings, they don’t live in bungalow ˈbʌŋɡəˌləʊ, hubs.)

- I see, that you understand that life on the islands is changing. I suggest you to make your own map of new resort. But firstly, look at the screen. What buildings would you like to build on your island?

A large tourist hotel, a large school, a fishing port, three small schools, a large hospital, an airport, a small hospital, a new road.

You have a map of a group of islands on your desk. Choose the best one island to build the things from our list. Also, don’t forget to name your island.

Will you stand up? Imagine that you are at the seaside. Lift your arms so high in the sky, you are beautiful birds that flying in the sky. You are in a good mood, and you are smiling.

8. Говорение.
- I know that you like travelling. Where will you go this summer?
Of course, if we go abroad, we should book hotels. Have you ever seen an unusual hotel?
Let’s read about three unusual hotels in the word.
9. Чтение
Читают тексты об отелях – 1) острова Фиджи, 2) Швеция, 3) Индия.
(Смотрят на картинки отелей.)
10. Информация о домашнем задании.
- Now we read about unusual hotels abroad, and your task is to tell about Russian unusual hotels. Make a presentation of it, you can use the Internet.
11. Рефлексия.
- What hotel would you like to visit? Why?
(I would like to visit … because it’s big/beautiful/amazing/different/strange).
