Learners can:

  • categorize their information about pollution because of peoples influence to the nature

  • produce sentences using appropriate subject-specific vocabulary and syntax

  • express ideas using new vocabulary in making arguments

  • make a project with own suggestion to solve the certain environmental problem

  • illustrate the pictures by the sentences using subject-specific vocabulary and syntax in oral form

  • write solutions to environmental pollution

The lesson greeting

Asking and talking about learners mood, about the weather

Brainstorming activity

Teacher displays 4 pictures on an activboard (air pollution, water pollution, cutting trees ,hunting animals and birds)

Ask learners to describe each of these pictures using simple structures of sentences

Teacher: -what kind of problems can you see on these pictures

-what do you think about the theme of our lesson today?

Students: problems in nature ,environmental problems


Teacher explain lesson objectives using the simplest vocabulary


Activity 1(Individual work)

Pre-speaking stage

Teacher displays subject-specific vocabulary students recognize words, drill them

Vocabulary:mud, garbage, nature, water, dirty, air, atmosphere, dust , the environment, pollute

Speaking: Teacher gives worksheets with words and phrases which are connected with pictures on a board students have to make sentences using appropriate words and syntax

Descriptors: -look through words and phrases

-make up the sentences (not less than 8)

-read them and match with a pictures

Assessment: If learner tells the correct sentences –the whole class clap

If incorrect –step feet

Activity 2 (Group work) Content

Students are divided into 4 groups .Teacher gives them one pictures to each group .Learners have to make their own project about the environmental problem which they have on a pictures.(Students may use sentences from the activity)

Descriptors: -define and name the environmental problem

-give 2 advantages and 2 disadvantages of people behaviors according to this problem

-suggest solving of a certain problem

Assessment: the other groups assess one group. They have (in each group) a pictures with a big tree. What group is the best by their opinion-learners

give this big tree .Which of group has more ‘trees’-it will be the best

A ctivity 3: Writing (Individual work)Differentiated work

Teacher gives students differentiation task in written form

Less able learners are supported by examples and word boxes. More able students were challenged by make a sentences with own opinions without any support




Observe learners when participating in use of English activities
