The theme of the lesson:

Unit V. Travelling. Step 4. Trains.

Objectives  of the lesson:

To develop pupils’ oral speech and reading, writing, thinking abilities and habits in dialogue and monologue speech through asking questions;  To increase their word-stock with the help of new words.  To bring up their interests to the language through different tasks and be careful using this or that kind of transport.

 

Expected results:

Pupils will be able to use topical vocabulary in their speech; they also will be able to analyze and compare the information about travelling trains and  talking about travelling and communicate their opinions through various activities.

The type of the lesson:

Integrated lesson.

The methods of the lesson:

pair work,  individual work, work with group, game, question-answer, dialogue, monologue, work with pictures, thematic tennis, cinquain, cluster.

Visual  aids:

Active board, Audio-video  rolik, pictures, cards.

And each groups have

LEADER/WRITER/SPEAKER/TIME-KEEPER.

  • What`s synonym the word “travelling”?

  • What kind of do you know transport?

At the beginning of the lesson I want to ask you attention to these rules, you should follow them:

a) Be active!

b) Be attentive!

c) Be emotional!

d) don`t say “I don`t”!

e) first think then speak!

What was your home task for today ? Are you ready? Who else?

OK. That’s all. Today’s our new theme is “Trains. Travelling”on page 69. Write down the date and the new theme.

Teacher: I’m glad to see you. It’s time to start our lesson. At the end of the lesson I want you to tell me why people travel. Today I’d like to speak to you about travelling. We are going to travel beautiful cities and you’ll get some more information about transport. We’ll learn some new words, we’ll read texts, answer the questions and do some exercises.

Warm-up: I think everybody likes travelling. So, during our lesson we’ll talk about travelling, means of transport, share and express opinions, and exchange ideas.

Now I’d like to start our lesson with the quotation written on the board:


Look at the pictures and write the missing letters of the following words.

  1. Kinds of transport: car, bus, bike, motorbike, taxi, plane, train, boat, van .

  2. We use preposition – by – with the names of transport. Slide№5

E.g. Таксимен – by taxi.

Автобуспен – by bus.

Машинамен – by car.

Велосипедпен – by bike.

But when we say – жаяу (екі аяқпен) – we say – on foot.

E.g. How do you go school?

I go to school on foot; I go to school by taxi.

How does she go to school?

She goes to school by car.

Ex:1 p122. (choose one kind of transport and complete the table. Which statements are true for the transport you`ve chosen?).

“Travelling”.

I like to travel. First of all, the members of our family usually have long walks in the country. Such walks are called hikes. If we want to see the country-side, we have to spend a part of our summer holidays on hikes. It is useful for all members of our family. We take our rucksacks, we don`t think about tickets, we don`t hurry up and we walk a lot. During such hikes we see a lot of interesting place, sometimes we meet interesting people. When you have got holidays you can travel by car, by train, by plane and by sea. I think that travelling is a very useful thing for us and I enjoy all kinds of travelling very much.

I like to travel by car. It is interesting too, because you can see many things in a short time. When we go by car, we don`t take tickets too, we put all things we need in a car. It is comfortable to travel by train and by plane. When I travel by plane, I don`t spend a lot of time going from one place to another. But it is difficult to buy tickets for the plane. That`s why we take our tickets beforehand. I like to fly. If I travel by train or by plane my friends see me off at the railway station or in the airport. Sometimes we go to the seaside for a few days. As usual the weather is fine. As usual the weather is fine. It is warm, we can swim. It is a pleasure to watch white ships. Then we went to the seaport and saw our ship. It was big. I enjoyed my trip to the country. This voyage impressed me for all my life.
