• осознание возможностей самореализации средствами иностранного языка.

• планировать решение учебной задачи;
• уметь искать и выделять необходимую информацию при аудировании и чтении.

• умение читать/слушать текст с разной глубиной понимания.

Коммуникативные УУД:

• читать несложные аутентичные тексты разных жанров и стилей с пониманием детальной информации;
• передавать основное содержание, основную мысль прочитанного или услышанного.

1. Мотивирование к учебной деятельности

• Warm-up
• Look at the pictures and name these stories/tales.

(The Rabbit and the Fox , The Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Fisherman and Mermaid, Thumbelina, Mermaid )

• With books closed, Pp listen to the tape and say what they hear. They may use their mother tongue. Introduce mermaid, wave.

( Sounds: Sea waves rolling. A girl singing in Welsh. A sea storm and wind houling. A wooden ship creaking in the wind .)

• Answer the questions :

(Can you name the theme of the lesson?

What will you speak about?)

2. Актуализация и фиксирование индивидуального обучения в пробном учебном действии

• № 1 Class. To introduce new vocabulary.
• Ask Pp to open the books and find the words in the pictures.
• Practise saying the words.

(Vocabulary : New:

Active : calm, draw a net, kiss goodbye, mermaid, net, shore, wave

Passive: lines, narrator, quotations marks, row, speeches

Revision : fisherman, rock, storm)

3.Выявление места и причины затруднения

• № 2a Individual, pairs. To practise predicting the content of listening from visuals.
• (Look at the pictures and put them in order.

There is one extra picture.)

• Ask Pp, What do you think the story is about? Elicit their answers in English or mother tongue.
• Ask Pp to put the pictures in order and compare their answers in pairs.

4. Построение проекта выхода из затруднения. Реализация построенного проекта

• № 2b Individual, class. To practise listening for gist.
• (Listen to the story and check your answer in Ex. 2a)
• Ask Pp to listen to the story and check if they were right .

5.Первичное закрепление с проговариванием

• № 3a Individual / class. To practise reading for detail.
• (Read and match the pictures and the paragraphs)
• Ask Pp to read the story and match the paragraphs and the pictures. Do the first two pictures together with the class. Elicit the meaning of draw your net and clear up any other vocabulary problems.

6. Самостоятельная работа с самопроверкой по эталону

• № 3a Individual / Pairs. To practise reading for detail.

• Before checking, let Pp compare their answers in pairs. Ask: Which paragraphs have no picture? (There are no pictures for paragraphs 2 and 6.)

7. Включение в систему знаний и повторение

• № 3b) Individual, class. To raise pupil’s awareness of a script as a text type.
• Ask Pp to read the story again and answer the questions.

1. Does the story have a sad or happy ending? Why?

2. How many scenes are there in the story? What are they?

3. How many characters are there in the story? Who are they?

  Possible answers:

1.The story has a happy ending. / The mermaid saved Hywel. Etc.

2. Eight scenes.

3.The main characters (Hywel, Modlen, Hywel’s friend) and the fishermen.

8. Рефлексия учебной деятельности на уроке (итог)

• Let pupils to discuss the lesson:
• (What was interesting / new / boring / funny / easy /difficult/ useful / exciting / sad ?)
• Put marks to yourself and to your classmates.
• Let them name the best pupils of the lesson.

• Homework:
• Tell Pp that they have two options for their homework: they may either choose a scene from the story and write a script or do the exercises in the Workbook.

• № 4 a): Find where the characters are speaking.
• № 4 b): Act out the story.
