Тема: «Kazakhstan is my Motherland.»
Цель урока: обобщение пройденного материала страноведческого характера
посредством заданий разного типа.
Задачи:
Образовательная: повышать познавательный интерес учащихся к языку через использование игровых моментов;
Развивающая: развивать познавательные способности учащихся, словесно-логическое мышление и умение работать в группе;
Воспитательная: формировать и развивать навыки культуры общения, воспитать уважительное отношение к истории, традиции страны.
Здоровьесберегающая задача урока:
Предупреждать переутомление учащихся путем смены деятельности

Greetings
T1: Good afternoon, students. We are happy to see you at our English lesson.
Our lesson is going to be unusual today. Our lesson will be devoted to our country.
Let’s begin with the anthem of Kazakhstan.
We know that you like to play. And you will take part in our quiz game
“Kazakhstan is my Motherland”. There are two teams “Astana” and “Almaty”.
The motto of our lesson is “There is no place like home” and you’ll try
to prove it.
Warm up
T2: On our way to school we found a strange bottle. Look! There is something
in it. What is it? You should sing a song and then we’ll see.
(a song “A Message in the bottle”)
Oh, it’s a message in English with questions about our country.

of Kazakhstan. Here are the questions: (questions on the board)
Is Almaty the capital of Kazakhstan?
(No, it isn’t . It was the capital, but Astana is the capital now.)
Are there any volcanoes in Kazakhstan?
(No, there aren’t any volcanoes.)
Are there any earthquakes?
(Yes, we sometimes have earthquakes in the south.)
What are the Tobol and the Irtysh?
(They are rivers. The Irtysh is the second longest river in Asia. It’s 4,248 kilometres long.)
Where are the highest mountains ?
(They are the Tian Shan mountains in the south-east of Kazakhstan near China.The highest mountain is Khan Tengri, which means ‘Ruler of the Sky’
Khan Tengri is 7,000 metres high.)
What are the two biggest lakes in Kazakhstan?
(The Caspian Sea and Lake Balkhash.)
Are there any deserts in Kazakhstan?
(Yes. One of the largest deserts is Kyzylkum, which means ‘Red Sand’. It is 300,000 km2 and is in two countries: Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. People keep camels and sheep there.)

Our city has a population of eight thousand people.
There is no underground in Astana, the main transport is buses.
