Tutor: Good afternoon students and our guests. I am very glad to see you. Let`s start our lesson. What the date is today? What the day of week is today? Who is on duty today?

Tutor: Look at the blackboard. Here there are a lot of pictures for us with many countries. How do you think what countries are there (Слайд №1) Students, what countries else do you know?
Students: называют известные им страны по-английский.
Tutor: Boys, do you want to see all this countries, to travel there? It will be very exciting? Сan you guess what is the topic of our lesson today?

Tutor: You are quite right. This theme is actual now. Soon will be summer and many people are going to travel. Look at slide and comment on this saying , please. (Слайд №2)” The world is a book, and those who don`t travel – read only one page.”
Students: When we travel we see different places and find out something new.
Tutor: By what kind of transport can people travel? (Слайд 3)
Students: by train, by airplane, by car, by ship or boat, by bus, on foot.
Tutor: Pay attention to the prepositions by and on.

OK, Чтобы ответить на этот вопрос, конечно сначала нужно больше узнать о преимуществах (advantages) и недостатках (disadvantages) транспорта который можно выбрать для путешествия, я приготовила для вас текст о двух транспортных средствах для путешествий поезде и самолёте. Let`s read it and you must find out advantages and disadvantages of the transport in this texts.

Travelling by airplane
Travelling by airplane is the fastest and very comfortable, but the most expensive. It combines both comfort and speed and you will reach the place of destination very quickly. A lot of people prefer travelling by airplane, but some people are afraid of heights and that’s why they prefer travelling by train, because it is the most dangerous to travel by airplane. Travelling by the plane you can see only clouds through the window. Unfortunately sometimes the flights are delayed because of unfavorable weather conditions. Before boarding the plane you must check in at the airport are requested to arrive at the airport one hour before departure time. You must register your tickets, weigh in and register the luggage.
Travelling by train
I have to notice that travelling by train is very popular in Russia. Modern trains have very comfortable carriages and seats. There is also the dining-car in each train. You can see many interesting places and enjoy the nature, looking through the window. To travel by train is not so fast as airplane, but is not so dangerous. Travelling by train is slower than by plane, but has its advantages. You don’t have to wait for hours at the airport with thousands of other passengers. You just go to the station a few minutes before the train leaves, buy a ticket, get on train and the journey begins.
You can have a sleep, read a book or go for a walk up and down the train. You can see many interesting places of the country while on a train. Speed and safety are the main advantages of trains. To travel by train is cheaper than by airplane. And for us the future railwaymen to travel by train will be free of charge. And without doubt it is a great advantage.
