Abstract of the demonstrative lesson «Professions»

Lesson type: fixing lesson on "Professions"

Learning objectives(s) that this lesson is contributing to

  • improve existing lexical skills on the topic "Professions", intensify their use in speech;

  • repeat the previously learned lexical units;

  • improving the skills of monologic speech on the material of the studied speech patterns;

  • Improving listening skills;

Lesson objectives:

Educational:

  • to intensify the use and use of lexical units in a speech on the topic "Professions";

Developing:

  • develop the skills and skills of oral speech;

  • develop listening skills;

Educational:

  • to bring up the need for foreign-language communication;

  • nurture the ability to speak in a collective;

  • to form an interest in learning a foreign language.

Methods: explanatory-illustrative, verbal-deductive.

Lesson equipment: illustrations on the topic (poster with professions), handouts (cards for working in mini groups), Power Point Presentation "Professions", video from www. Britishcouncil.org/learnennglishkids "People work", Snowball (cards with the names of professions), Smileys (encouragement for the right answers).

Thank you very much, you may sit down, please. Division into groups using pictures with colors. (yellow, green and orange). Ok we have 3 groups: yellow, green and orange

First of all let’s check your home task. Students go to the blackboard and show the pictures with professions and say 3 sentences about their picture. (e.g. This is a teacher. She works at school. She teachers students. )

T. Very good, my dear students, your answers were great. Now let’s play the game “Snowball” (in the colossus crumpled pieces of paper with the names of professions, students in turn unfold the snowball, read the word and translate it into Russian). Words for snowball: Plumber, actress, tailor , fisherman, dentist, postman, mailman, chef, cook, teacher, judge, baker, lifeguard, taxi driver, policeman, photographer, gardener, doctor, fireman, farmer, babysitter, military, barber, hairdresser, nurse, pilot, vet, cosmonaut, engineer.

T. You worked very well, and now let's do the first task:
