Learners will be able to:

All learners will be able to make a small talk with their partners, recognize geographical features, name some geographical features with teacher’s support

Most learners will be able to recognize simple classroom instructions, match the well known geographical features with continents, answer the questions with limited teacher’s support

Some learners will be able to name new words intelligibly, answer the questions independently, give short describing of the words without teacher’s support

ORGANISATION MOMENT:

Teacher divides students into 2 groups. Teacher suggests students to count from 1 to 2.

Small talk. Teacher suggests students to make circle in a circle and stand face to face. Teacher asks students to make conversation with their classmates then change the partner and repeat the previous action.

Brainstorming.

(W)Teacher asks students to read the word on the screen. Teacher asks a question: What can you imagine when you hear the word “GEOGRAPHY”?

Teacher shows pictures of geographical features on p 29


(T) Crossword. Chain. Teacher suggests students to do crossword. Also teacher gives links for each right answer. Members of each group must do crossword and make a chain use of links for each right answer


(T) Matching. Teacher gives cards with definitions of geographical features and asks students to match the geographical features with their definitions.


(I) Listening. Ex 2 p 29. Teacher asks students to listen to the dialogue and match the places to the continents


(W) Work with text.

Teacher hands out students cards with text and suggests them to read the text sentence by sentence.


Post-reading task. “Three facts”

Teacher gives three words from the text for each group. Teacher suggests students to name 1 noun, 1 adjective and 1 verb for each word.

1 team – Earth, animals, seas

2 team – cities, nationalities, Christopher Columbus
