Beginning 5 mins | Teacher greets pupils; pupils respond to greeting and take their places. Warming up Teacher asks pupils “How are you?” to find out their mood at the beginning of the lesson; pupils choose one of the smiles they see on the slide and answer the question - Teacher introduces lesson objectives to the pupils. | PPP slide 1 | ||
Middle 25 mins | -Teacher shows the letters and drills with individual learners then whole class. -Teacher then flashes cards and nominates individual learners to produce words. -Tell pupils to trace letters and write. -Tell pupils that after they finish writing they should colour the letters Touching game The class is divided into to equal teams. Flashcards with letters are placed on the blackboard. I shout out a letter say for example, Dd and a member of each team has to run to the board and touch it. The first pupil to touch the letter first earns a point for their team.
