Методическая разработка занятия Shopping for food предназначена для студентов 1ого курса техникума по профессии "Повар, кондитер" для активизации и закрепления лексических единиц по теме "Еда".

Aims:
Main: students will talk about food using conversational formulas “At the shop”.
Subsidiary:
- to improve speaking skills,
- to revise words on topic “Food”;
- to revise “I like/don’t like” structures;
- to revise countable and uncountable nouns;
- to revise quantities “many-much”;
- to improve writing and reading skills.
Assumed language:
Students already know the words on topic “Food”, also they can use conversational formulas “At the shop”.
Anticipated problems:
- Some students may forget the phrases how to do the shopping.
- There can be a problem with time.
Solution for the problems:
- To provide students for necessary exercises to let them remember the phrases.
- If there is a time problem, miss activity №5.

This lesson is based on “Spotlight – 5”, Module 8. Students have just studied “Birthday food”. Module 9 is “Shopping for clothes”.

1. At the next lesson students may read their stories to the class.
2. Students think over the problem of healthy food and interview their classmates what healthy food they eat. Then students make a poster what healthy (unhealthy) food is.
