The theme of the lesson: Describing places
The aims of the lesson:
1. Educational: to teach pupils to speak about Astana - London and sightseeing of these cities ;to enlarge vocabulary word stock and to improve pronunciation:.
2. Practical: to develop the pupils habits of the oral speech, to develop pupils creative and logical abilities, understanding, reading and writing skills.
3. Bringing-up : to bring up love and interest to the subject, to be friendly in group.

Astana
Astana is the capital of the republic of Kazakhstan. It is the third largest city in the country with population over 800 000. In 1999 Astana was awarded a Prize of UNESCO “City of Peace”.Astana is situated in the central Kazakhstan on the banks of the Ishim River. It is located in steppe and has an extreme continental climate – the summers here are hot, while winters are very dry and cold. Astana is an important centre for business and trade. The city is centre for culture, sport, healthcare and education. Astana is a beautiful modern city. The author of the Master Plan of Astana is the famous Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa. There are a lot of modern buildings, skyscrapers and monuments. “Baiterek” memorial is the symbol of Astana; it is also the geographical centre of all Eurasia.There are a lot of beautiful parks and fountains in Astana, the most famous of which is “Tree of Life” fountain. In the city there are also some theatres and museums, concert halls and trading and entertainment centres. As Astana is the capital of the country there are government buildings and the residence of the president.

London
London is the capital of Great Britain, its political, economic and cultural centre. It's one of the largest cities in the world. Its population is more than million people. London is situated on the river Thames. London is divided into several parts: the City, the West End, the East End and Westminster.There are a lot of places of interest in London. Among them there are: Westminster Abbey,the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s Cathedral, London Bridge, the Tower of London.London stands on the river Thames. Tower Bridge is one of the oldest buildings of the city. On the bank of the Thames, not far from the Tower of London, you can see Westminster Palace, or the Houses of Parliament. It is the seat of the British government and it is one of the most beautiful buildings in London. In one of its towers there is famous Big Ben, the largest clock of England. Buckingham Palace is the Queen’s official London residence.London has many fine squares.Trafalgar Square is the central square of the city. St Paul’s Cathedral is the biggest English church. Another famous church is Westminster Abbey where kings, queens, and many famous people are buried.
London is also famous for its beautiful parks. Hyde Park is the most democratic park in the world, as anyone can say anything he likes there. Regent’s Park is the home of London Zoo.
