This lesson plan is intended to improve students‘ both speaking and grammar skills. At the end of the lesson students will be able to differ countable and uncountable nouns and their question words.

Lesson plan for 9th grades.

Theme: Revision: How much- How many.

The aim of the lesson:

Educational: -to learn to revise all the learnt materials, check their knowledge by doing activities.

Developing: -to enable pupils to check their knowledge by doing activities.

Socio-cultural: -to raise awareness of doing activities.

Learning outcomes: At the end of the lesson pupils will be able to check their knowledge by doing

tests. .

Type of the lesson: -non-standard, mixed.

Method of the lesson: individual work, pair work, group work.

Equipment: Round –Up 1 , Test Master book, a laptop.


Procedure of the lesson:

I. Organizing moment:

- Greeting.

-Checking register

- Checking homework.
III. Main part of the lesson:


Pupils will be divided into four groups:

    1. Witty c) Smart

    2. Wise d) Intelligence



  1. Then I give them fast questions in order to involve all the pupils in the lesson.

  1. Introduce yourself.

  2. Where do you study?

  3. What do you do in your free time?

  4. What are your personal qualities?

  5. What are your interests?

  6. What are your future plans?

II. I ask the leaders of each group to come to the teacher’s table and choose a grammar question

to which they have to answer after 5 minutes.

  1. Explain a/an. What is “can”, how can we use it in sentences?

  2. What is the difference between “ I have got” and “ I have” ?

  3. Give information about Present Simple Tense.

  4. Give information about Present Continuous Tense.

  1. Pupils explain the tasks on the board. After their explanation I begin new theme :

Revision: How much-How many. ( Countable/ Uncountable nouns).

    1. Pupils differ C and U nouns. They have to do an interesting task in groups.

    2. Two of the pupils will do a special task on the board.

  1. Post Activity.

I. When pupils finish the task , I explain the questions “How much-How many”.

How much + uncountable nouns How many+ countable nouns.

Pupils will be given an exercise and they have to do it on their copy books.

II. If we have extra time, I will give pupils tests. Then I put an interesting video about nouns.

V. Homework.

To revise

  1. Evaluation.

Giving marks.
