4.2.3.1 give short basic description of people and objects begin to describe past experiences on an increasing range of general and some curricular topics

4.4.1.1 plan, write and check sentences with support on a range of basic personal, general and some curricular topics

Lesson objectives

All learners will be able to:

-describe past events, experiences giving basic description of people and objects with 75% accuracy;

-write with some support 1-2 simple sentences on suggested topic and check them


Most learners will be able to:

- describe past events, experiences giving basic description of people and objects with 85% accuracy;

- write with some support 2-3 sentences without any support on suggested topic and check them


Some learners will be able to:

- describe past events, experiences giving basic description of people and objects with 95% accuracy;

-make a short story in 3-4 extended sentences and check them

Assessment criteria

-give appropriately the description of people describing their past experiences in a grammatically correct English

-plan, write some simple sentences and check them with some support

1.Greeting students

Warm-up activity. Dividing into groups. Active method “Atom divide”

Teacher asks students to stand up and mingling around the classroom like they are stepping on fire coals/ chasing by elephants/ going on the red carpet. When Teacher says “Atom 5”/ “Atom 3”/ “Atom 4” pupils gathered to make a group of 5/3/4. Then Teacher asks students stay in a group of 4 and take their seats.

Task 1. Speaking skills. Active method “Hide and Speak”

Teacher hides pictures with people in traditional customs and some traditional objects throughout the classroom. Students search the classroom for the hidden cards and describe what he or she sees . For the correct answer group gets the card. Less able pupils asks support from their more able groupmates. Game is stopped when all pictures have been found. Group which has the most amount of pictures wins.
