«Teens ‘ problems in Britain and in Russia»

Good morning to everybody. Nice to see you and our quests. Sit down, please.

-How do you feel now?

What do you do to be healthy?

The topic of our lesson is «Teens ‘ problems». As an example let’ s take some countries Great Britain and Russia. Take your books and open them at p. 229. Ex.6.

Read the text «Teens’ problems » and choose information from the text and match its paragraph(1-5) with the titles(a-f).There is one extra title.

Now look at the blackboard . There are some key-words to these short texts.

Repeat them after me, please.

You see the facts about teenage life may seem shocking.

3. Развитие навыков монологической и диалогической речи.

You have read the text about Teens’ problems in the UK. Say which of them in your opinion are real Teens problems in our country, and in our town Lukhovitsy.

P. Some months ago a doctor from the Narcological Centre lectured at our school. She had told to us a lot about a typical situation with drinking, smoking, drug taking in Lukhovitsy.

The facts about teens life in our town may seem shocking too.

60 %of boys, 77 % of girls drink alcohol; 60 % of boys, 47%of girls smoke; 2,6%boys, 2,5 %girls have tested drugs.

P.2.Most of my friends and I are afraid of to get bad results at examinations or fail them.

What is the best thing about being 15?

Р.1 It is good , because people give you more independence. They think you are not a kid any longer. But you are more responsible. Parents expect you to behave well.

P.1.Unemployment and world war. But my biggest worry is the death of my relatives and friends.

P.1.What is the biggest problem of teenagers at our school ?-

P.2. P1, P2,…we think it is smoking.

P.1. Do you know that every year about 390.000 people die because of smoking.

Why would people want to smoke, if it is so bad for health?

P.2.Many children begin smoking. May be they think that smoking add something to their image- they say : “I am classy”.

P.1.The fact is there are more smoking girls than smoking boys.

T. How do you think: «Is it possible to solve this problem? »

P.1.I think, parents and our teachers must fight against this problem together. P.2.In my opinion smoking should be banned in public places.

T. What can you advice to a smoker, who has made up his mind to give up smoking?

Р. Find a hobby. Go in for sports, join a sports club. Р.Try to make new friends who don t smoke.

T. It is clear that our town isn’ t an exception and it has the same problems as in the world and in our country , they are: unemployment, drug addiction, crimes, getting education, the army, unhealthy way of life, how to go in for sports, music, youth leisure, relations between a boy and a girl.
