Урок английского языка в 6 классе
Тема урока: Англия. Районы Англии.
Цели урока:
Образовательная – совершенствование навыков говорения, аудирования, письма, применение изученного языкового материала по теме в учебной ситуации.
Развивающая – формирование умений работать с ключевыми словами, классифицировать и систематизировать, развивать долговременную память, внимание.
Воспитательная – формирование культуры работы в группе, привитие интереса к культуре страны изучаемого языка.
Дидактическая цель: создать условия для обобщения изученного материала, выявления уровня овладения системой знаний и умений по теме.
Тип урока: обобщение и систематизация знаний и умений, контроль по теме “Англия. Районы Англии”.
Формы работы на уроке: индивидуальная, групповая, фронтальная.
Форма урока: урок - соревнование.

Ход урока
1. Greeting. Warming up.
T: Good morning boys and girls. I am glad to see you at the lesson. Today we’ll have an unusual lesson. Today we’ll have a competition. But first of all let us name the theme of our lesson. I will tell you some words and phrases and you should guess what our theme is.
T: London.
Attractive sights.
East Anglia.
The Midlands.
The Southeast.
P: Our theme is “England. Regions of England.” (Cлайд 1)
T: We have a competition today. That’s why we have three teams at the lesson. You should work in groups today. Each team has to choose a captain who will be responsible for your answers, their correctness and they will have to answer if nobody in your team knows the answer. (Команды выбирают капитанов.)
T: In our game each team will get a red owl for excellent answer, a green owl – if your answer is good but with some drawbacks, a yellow owl – if you have some mistakes in your answer.
You should remember that every pupil in your group should take part in our work. Are you ready to start?
II. Competition.
The 1st task.
T: For speaking about England we must know some words on the topic. Let us repeat them.
Each team has a card with the words on it. The problem is that the letters in the words are mixed. Put the letters in the right order and write down the words. (Приложение 1)
T: Now exchange your cards and check the spelling of the words.(Слайд 2)
( По результатам выполнения выдаются жетоны.)
T: Do you know the translation of the words? Give 3 words for translating from Russian into English to the members of the other team.
(По результатам выполнения задания выдаются жетоны)
The 2nd task.
T: Now the task is for the 1st team: name me three things that can be exciting.
For the 2nd team: Name me 3 things that can be in the shape of a square.
For the 3rd team: Name me 3 things that can be attractive.

The 3rd task.
T: I’ll ask the questions to each team. You should answer them correctly.
1. How many regions are there in England?
2. What are the most important cities in England?
3. Where is Heathrow airport situated?
4. What regions of England are farming regions?
5. What part of England is known for its pirates?
6. What city is known as a big Britain’s port and a birthplace of a famous music group?

The 4th task.
T: I’ll give you the map of England. You should take the pencils and mark five regions of England. Mind their borders and their names.
T: Open your books, page 91 and correct your mistakes.
(Задание не оценивается)
The 5th task.
T: Do you know the pronunciation of some geographical names. Let us fresh our memory and read them again. Open your books at page 89 and read after announcer.
Close your books and be ready to continue our work.
Here is the next task for you. (Слайд 3).
You can see some pictures in the presentation.
(Каждая команда отвечает на поставленный вопрос.)
Who or what are there on the pictures?
What are they connected with?
What do you know about these famous people and places?

The 6th task.
T: I’ll give you cards with words and phrases. (Приложение 2) Divide them according to the region they belong to. (Учащиеся выполняют задание.)
T: Exchange your cards and check your answers. What is the result of this task? (Cлайд 4)

The 7th task.
T: Each team will choose the card with the name of a region. You should tell us some words about the region you’ve chosen. Use the key words of the previous task. (Слайд 5)

The 8th task.
T: Imagine that you are in England. What region of England would you like to visit? Why?
Begin your answer with:
When I go to England I shall visit ……
III. Summing up
1. T: Thank you for your work. You were active and clever today. I see that you know a lot about England.
Let us discuss the result of our competition. Count your red, green and yellow owls.
How many of them do you have?
The winner of the competition is team ……The best congratulations to the winners. They get excellent marks.

T: On the blackboard you can see the table describing your feelings. (Приложение 3)
Put “plus” into the table which best describes your feelings at the lesson.(Учащиеся заполняют таблицу).
