  Тема «Условия жизни в России и за рубежом».

Тип урока: комбинированный.

Цели урока.

Образовательные. Повторение изученного материала по теме «Условия жизни в России». Формирование умения употреблять изученную лексику по теме «Условия жизни в России и за рубежом» в устной речи и в письменной форме. Формирование умения правильно задавать вопросы на английском языке. Совершенствование навыков техники чтения и перевода, развитие речемыслительной деятельности. Формирование навыков аудирования с извлечением основной информации.

Развивающие. Формировать умение осуществлять регулятивные действия самонаблюдения, самоконтроля, самооценки работы на уроке, умение организовывать учебное сотрудничество и совместную деятельность с преподавателем и сверстниками. Способствовать повышению интеллектуального уровня учащихся, а также критического мышления.

Воспитательные. Помочь учащимся понять возможность изучения иностранного языка как средства самореализации; способствовать развитию таких качеств, как инициативность, трудолюбие и дисциплинированность, эстетический вкус. Формировать устойчивый интерес к изучению английского языка; чувство коллективизма и активную жизненную позицию.

Задачи урока.

• Совершенствование грамматических навыков.(составление вопросов)

• Развитие навыков аудирования (просмотр фильма)

1. Not long ago my friends arranged/celebrated a house-warming party.

2. They invited me to their new flat.

3. Their apartment is located rather far from the centre but it is large and beautiful.

4. It is on the fifth floor of a nine-storeyed apartment house.

5. The view from the windows is to the large park.

6. Not far from the house there is a supermarket.

7. There are two rooms in the apartment- two bedrooms and a sitting room which they use as a dining room.

8. The rooms in the apartment are cosy and light.

9. In the centre of the sitting room there is a round table around the table there are six chairs.

10. In the corner there is a large TVset.

11. On the floor there is a green carpet.

12. The door from the sitting room leads to the balcony.

13. The furniture in the kitchen is modern.

The USA is often pictured as a country of skyscrapers. In fact, it is not quite so. The tall buildings are located in the centre (downtown), housing offices of large firms, banks and shops. Real America begins with little cosy houses designed for one family with children. Each house has its own style and "face"; its inhabitants decorate it with love and care. Of course, young people usually don't bother about having a house of their own until their mid-twenties, and prefer renting an apart­ment to buying a house. As soon as they get engaged, they start looking for a suitable house to live in. Engagement lasts from half a year to three years (sometimes even longer), but anyway by the age of thirty the young couple starts living in a house of their own.

A typical house is two-storeyed. On the ground floor a sitting room, a hall and a kitchen are situated, while upstairs there are bedrooms. A garage is downstairs. An American will say: "I live in a two-bedroom house" which means the house is not very large, or: "There are five bedrooms in my house", which means the house is quite large. In front of the house there is usually a small garden or a lawn. In the basement there is often a laundry and sometimes even a gym! Winters are seldom severe in the USA, so the walls are not thick. The houses are built very quickly — it will take a building company three to four months to build a new house. Of course, there are all modern conven­iences.

The houses may be located rather far from the centre. Living far from the centre is not a problem as every family member has a car.

The climate of a country is one of the factors that influence the style of its architecture. It can be best illustrated by British residential buildings. The weather in England is often cloudy and there are few sunny days in the winter season, therefore, as a rule, the windows in an English house are of a large size to catch as much light and sunshine as possible. In the houses built in the past century the windows, besides being large, opened upwards, which is very convenient on windy days.

Since there is much rain in England, typical British houses have high, steep roofs where rain water and melting snow can easily flow down.

Most of the houses have a fireplace which forms the most characteristic feature of an English home and is seldom seen in other European countries.

The plan of an English house also differs from that of the houses where we live. English architects plan some apartments vertically instead of planning them horizontally, so that an English family having a separate apartment lives on two or sometimes three floors with rooms connected with a narrow staircase. They find it the most convenient style of apartment. There are usually three rooms in each apartment besides a kitchen and a bathroom: a living room, a bedroom and a dining room.

In the University right now studying English. I am living in a place called Hyde Park. It’s ten minutes drive from the stadium and ten minutes’ drive from the University as well and also from the city centre, so it is really a good location and I am really happy with the people I am living with.

The main thing I like about living in Leeds is easy access to a lot of things such as cinemas, restaurants, bars, clubs, music venues-everything that appeal to the students is there in Leeds.

There is a lot of everything-it can be quite overwhelming at first-the way you are just living in the city when you realize that everything….and there can be a lot of fun in going out to picnics(big night…)

It’s very exciting-really a place to live.

I don’t think I am always going to live in Leeds because it’s the kind of city that really appeals to students so when I graduate I can’t see myself enjoying it as much as I do right now.

That’s why I think I’d possibly live somewhere like London because there is much more devious population or maybe I’ll go to the country where I’d enjoy quite a life. It’ll be a nice contrast to the life of living right now.

2. I live in a small rural village. (Script)

I have the 16 century cottage just now. A cottage with a strong roof. It overlooks the village critically. But it is accessive.The best thing about living in the country is wildlife. From the window you can see wonderful birds, mammals trotting around the place.

I think the main disadvantage is that you have to drive everywhere because we re quite rural and if you want to go to the cinema for instance we have to plan the long distance.

I hope I will always live in the counry.I can’t see myself living in any city again. I hope to live in my country for a number of years. I’ve got used to the pace of life. When I now go to the city everything seems very fast. I prefer to be slower…

It has two flats. I live with my cat and I have a small garden…

There are trains nearby so it makes a lot of noise also at night.

The best thing about living in a city is that there is access to so many things and so many people. There are lots of things for those people to do and there are a lot of movie theatres, a lot of cafes and a lot of things. People get together. A lot of things to do and see that you can’t find in the country.

I don’t really take advantage of museums and the theatres as much as I was younger. When I get older I think that I’ll be more interested in living out from the city but have access to the city. And I think that I will always want to go to the city and have access to the city but I think that I won’t live there forever.

4. I live in a sort of a hill. (Script)

I love the freedom and the freshness, no noise and there are not many votes. Not many people. Quite away off. I think the best thing about living in the country is probably relaxation of the soul. And troubles have not work and stress away and we like to walk where you like. And there is still a lot of freedom. I am always considering the country. It’s very relaxing. I can’t see myself come back to the town.

VIII. Игра Предложения на расширение.

Выполняются письменно либо устно по отдельному предложению или картинке. Перед началом покажите студенту, как это сделать на русском языке, продемонстрируйте возможные “расширения”:

• Прилагательные;

• Дополнения прямые и непрямые;

• Обстоятельства места (где), времени (когда), образа действия (willingly quickly), условия (if, because).

Элемент соревнования заключается в том, что необходимо составить самое длинное (по количеству слов) предложение. Это упражнение можно делать устно, расширяя по очереди: I bought flowers. - I bought beautiful flowers. - I bought flowers for my sister. И так далее, пока остается возможность расширять.

Давайте посмотрим, как можно составить описание своего дома на английском.

The living-room and kitchen are on the first floor. The stairs lead from the living-room to the second floor. There are bedroom, bathroom and study upstairs. I like to sit on the sofa and watch news or movies on TV in the living room after work. The big clock on the wall reminds me when it is already late and when I have to go to bed. I have decorated walls of the living-room with a mirror and some pictures. Before going to sleep I like to read some books lying in the bed. I have a lot of book in my bookcase, I keep on the bedside table those which I read. In the morning I take shower and check my e-mail. My computer is on the desk in my study. The study is not very big but it has all necessary items for my work. The window faces the garden and when my eyes are tired from computer I look at the trees and let my eyes relax. I switch on the lamp on the desk when it is still dark in the morning. Then I usually go to the kitchen and open the fridge where I always keep apple or orange juice.

Гостиная и кухня находятся на первом этаже. Лестница из гостиной ведёт на второй этаж. На верхнем этаже находятся спальня, ванная и рабочий кабинет. Я люблю сидеть на диване и смотреть телевизор в гостиной после работы. Большие часы на стене напоминают мне, когда уже поздно и когда мне пора спать. Я украсила стены гостиной зеркалом и некоторыми картинами. Перед тем, как ложиться спать, я люблю почитать книги, лёжа в кровати. У меня есть много книг в книжном шкафу, те, которые я читаю, я держу на прикроватной тумбочке. Утром я принимаю душ и проверяю свою электронную почту. Мой компьютер находится на рабочем столе в кабинете. Кабинет не очень большой, но имеет все необходимые предметы для моей работы. Окно выходит на сад и когда у меня устают глаза от компьютера, я смотрю на деревья и даю глазам отдохнуть. Когда ещё темно я включаю лампу на столе. Затем я обычно иду на кухню и открываю холодильник, где я всегда держу яблочный или апельсиновый сок.
