- Good day, dear boys and girl, teachers, and guests! Welcome to our intellectual game “Jolly pupils”!

The participants of our game are 8^th, 9^th and 10^th forms.

During our game you can see the habits and the skills of pupils in speaking. I hope it will be interesting competition.

And of course the competition will be judged by us!

Let’s start our game! “First step”

I have 2 questions for every team. The first question is for Kazakh.

1. Who painted Mono Lisa? (Leonardo Davinchi)

2. A famous ship which sank on its first voyage? (Titanic in 1966)

3. Which flower is the national emblem of England? (Rose)

4. Whose composition is “Swan Lake”? (Tchaikovsky)

5. The flag of Kazakhstan is consist of (Eagle, sun, Horse and ornament)

6. Which is the most popular British sport? (Football)

The second stage is “Magic boxes”

Every team has to find the names of people at the picture in the box.

1. We don’t know much about this man. He was born in Italy, but lived in Spain for a long time. He was a seaman and made many sea voyages. He decided to sail west as he was sure that our planet was round. (Christopher Columbus. He discovered America in 1492)

2. He was a poet, thinker and composer. His popularity was a magnet that attracted not only the Kazakhs. Having an excellent knowledge and understanding of Kazakh folk-music, he composed several melodies for those of his verses. (Aday Kunanbayev was born in1845 and died in 1904)

3. How little we know of him compared with poet of the 19^th century is shown by the fact that we are not certain of the exact date on which the greatest of all poets was born. But most probably he was born on April 23, 1564; he died also on his date, April 23, in 1616. (William Shakespeare)

The third stage is “Proverbs”

The fourth stage is “Knowledge is power”

• Our next stage is a chain –word. I think you know what is it, and let’s start. Here you have 12 words. First 4 words the 1^st team will write, and 2^nd team will write the next 4 words and so on.
