The procedure of the lesson:

  1. Warm-up:

1) Objectives:
1. to practice skills in speaking
2. to practice the vocabulary

2) Teaching aids and materials: Types of Tourism.

3) Equipment: interactive board.

4) Steps:                                                                                                             5) Regimes:
    1. The T shows the Ss the pictures of different types of tourism.                             T -  Cl
        (Adventure tourism, pilgrimage tourism, cycling,
         wedding tourism, hiking, boating).
        The Ss are to read the words under the pictures
         and share their ideas about them and show their understanding.                       T -  Cl
    2. The T asks the Ss to open their Ss books on p.24.
        The Ss are to read the short extracts and match
         them with the relevant headings.                                                                        T -  Cl
         The T divides the class into two groups. The Ss work in two groups.               Gr1, Gr2                                 
    3. The group that finishes first say “Stop” and the T and                                        T - Cl
         the Ss check their answers.  The Ss read the extracts.                                         S1, S2, S3 …

6) Assessment (Evaluation): verbal.

II. Checking of Homework.
  1) Objectives:
    1. to practice speaking skills.
  2) Teaching aids and materials:  PPT presentations.                                     

  3) Equipment: interactive board.
  4) Steps:                                                                                                             5) Regimes:
    1. The asks  the Ss to show their presentations about types of tourism.              T -  Cl
    2. The Ss show their presentations. The Ss work in pairs.                                   Pair1, pair2…                         
       
    3.   The T asks the Ss to evaluate their classmates together.                                S1, S2, S3 …
6) Assessment (Evaluation): verbal, marks.

 

Ш. Oral practice

         1) Objectives:
          
1. to practice the vocabulary.
           2. to develop skills in reading.
         2) Teaching aids and materials:  pp. 23-25, Ex-s 1,2,3,4.
         3) Equipment: Students’ book, Teacher’s book, dictionaries,
                                  manuals, selected readings, visual materials

        4) Steps:                                                                                                             5) Regimes:  
         
1. The T shows the questions on the interactive board.
              The Ss read the questions.
              The T asks the students to move around the class
              and ask each other about the way of travelling,
              the places to travel in Kazakhstan, what transport they prefer,
              what is their attitude towards adventurous tourism.                                           T -  Cl       
          2.  After the survey made, the Ss sit down
               and make a conclusion having written it on the board.                                     T -  Cl   
         
3. Reading.
              Before reading the T asks the Ss to look at the text.
              Their task will be to make a plan of the text.
              The Ss read the text and do the task.
              They are to choose the right variant.                                                                   S1, S2, S3 …
          4. After reading the text the T and the Ss make a plan of the text.                         T -  Cl   
          5. In order to check the Ss’ understanding of the text
              the Ss do ex,2, p. 24.
              The Ss are to say if the sentences are True or False.                                           S1, S2, S3 …
          6. Grammar revision: Reported Speech.
              The T reminds the Ss the grammar item:
              Reported Speech on the interactive board.                                                           T -  Cl   
              The Ss do ex.4, p.25.
              The Ss write on the board and in copy – books.                                                    S1, S2, S3 …
          
  6) Assessment (Evaluation): verbal, marks.                                                                                                                               

IV. Summing up the results of the lesson.
Giving the home assignment: to make up 10 sentences with Reported Speech.
Giving marks.
Drawing conclusions.

Educational aims: to develop mental abilities (to be able to analyze, compare, contrast, memory, imagination, will power).
Practical aims:
(Objectives)

  1. to get acquainted with new vocabulary

  2. to practice the vocabulary

  3. to develop skills in reading and speaking

  4. to practice the grammar item


Cultural aims: 1. to extend pupil’s knowledge of the world in which they live

2. to get acquainted with the life, customs and traditions of the target language speakers.


Language and linguistic materials: Reported Speech, new vocabulary.


The type of the lesson:
mixed


The kind of the lesson: learner-centered lesson


Methods: explaining, question-answer, brainstorming, comparing, giving information, acting out and vocabulary


Equipment:

a) teaching aids: blackboard, the computer, the interactive board, tape recorder

b) teaching materials:

the students’ book “Almaty Kitap”, the teacher’s book, dictionaries, manuals, selected readings, visual materials (objects, realia, flashcards, sentence cards, wall-charts, posters, pictures, photographs, albums, maps, plans, slides, filmstrips)cards with exercises, audio-visual materials (sound film loops, films, movies), audio materials (typescripts, CD with typescripts, records, cassettes)
Literature: the students’ book “Almaty Kitap”, the teacher’s book, dictionaries, manuals, selected readings.
