1. To revise the use of the Past Simple Tense, to repeat regular and irregular verbs. 2. To practice all kinds of activities: listening, reading, writing and speaking. 3. To increase the students” interest to the English language.

Greeting
(Presentation, slide 1,2); Welcome to our English lesson!
Teacher: Today we are going to repeat the Past Simple Tense. We will sing a song in the whole class, play and have fun. Let us start!

3. Review

Teacher: Let us read the regular verbs together in the Past Simple. There are 2 columns of the verbs in the slide.
The children read the regular verbs first. They read in turn and repeat every pair of the verbs in chorus.

4. Review (irregular verbs)
(Presentation, slide 5).
Teacher: Ok! Now students, you have just known how to make the regular verbs and now I want to know how you are going to make the irregular verbs. Here given a list of the irregular verbs, all of them look at the board and repeat after me together.

5. Using the verbs in the Past Simple in sentences

Teacher: Now look at this exercise. You must complete the sentences. The verb is given in the present but you have to give it in the past form.
My mother ________ (give) me 20 dollars yesterday.
My granny ______ (grow) flowers last spring.
I ______( sleep) very well last night.
Mohammed _____ (sing) very well during the party last Monday.
My mother ______(go) to China and _____(eat) strange food.
6. Readingand writing comprehension

Teacher:Oh, I am proud of you, thank you. Just now we have a dialogue. We will practice more. Boys you have to read your part and girls you do the same. After that try to answer the questions due to the conversation.
Boys: Hello Girls! Where did you go last night?
Girls: Oh, we went to the cinema!
Boys: What film did you see?
Girls: We saw “Harry Potter III.”
Boys: Was it nice?
Girls: It was fantastic!

Teacher: Let us play Millionaire’s Game. The class is divided into 3 groups. Discuss a competition between the 3 groups. Each representative must answer the question per category and gathers money for the group
Game 2.
Come to me and make a circle. I will say the verbs. If the verb is in the Past Simple you must jump, if it is in the Present Simple you must stand still. (then we may change jumping into clapping hands,turning around, etc.)

So when can we use the Past Form of the verb?
How many categories of verbs are there in English?
