Justification:

These activities are based on the President’s instructions given at the 2nd–4th sessions of the National Kurultai and on Order No. 123 of the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan.

Learners will be able to:

- Understand what the ozone layer is and why it is important.

- Identify the causes and effects of ozone layer damage.

- Use key scientific and environmental vocabulary in English.

1.Greeting.

Sun and Protection

Show a picture of the sun and Earth.
Ask:

“What protects us from the strong sunlight?”
“What happens if the sun is too strong?”

Introduce the topic: The Ozone Layer — Our Invisible Shield

Explain simply:

“The ozone layer is a part of the Earth’s atmosphere. It protects us from the sun’s harmful rays.”

Ex:1 P:50

Introduce the topic, elicit prior knowledge and predict the content of the text

Read the title aloud and elicit if Ss know anything about the hole in the ozone layer. Elicit a variety of question



Learners read the given sentences on the board and guess the topic and share with their ideas.


Remember and recognize the main vocabulary.


Pupils write three questions. Read through and see if you can answer your questions
