Learners: 16 students, 4th form, mixed ability group

Aim: by the end of the lesson students will be able to:

  • read the text with new words;
  • extract information from the new text;
  • show their opinion according to the text;
  •  make sentences in the Past Simple Tense;
  • answer questions in the Past Simple Tense;
  • retell the text “A WOLF & A SHEEP”

Learners: 16 students, 4th form, mixed ability group

Aim: by the end of the lesson students will be able to:

  • read the text with new words;

  • answer questions in the Past Simple Tense;

  • retell the text “A WOLF & A SHEEP”

New Vocabulary: Shouted (закричал)

Have made (сделал)

Mouth (pom)

Poor (бедный)

  1. Greeting Good morning my dear pupils. – I’m glad to see you.

Tell me what’s the weather like today?

Is it cold/warm? Is it rainy?

Is the Sun shining?

Do you like such weather?

What do you like to do in such wonderful weather?

What date is it today/was yesterday/ will be tomorrow?

What day of week is it today/was yesterday/will be tomorrow?

  1. Lexical exercise.

Look at the blackboard. What is his name?

Is it rainy?

But little Roo isn’t in bad mood he sings a song.

-Listen to it.

Rain, rain, go away

Come again, another day,

Little Roo wants to play

On a sunny, lovely (приятный) day.


-Read after the announcer.-Read & translate.

-Do you like rainy weather? –Can you sing the same song? Sing it then about yourself.

-Change the underlined words. Use the words given bellow. Nice of you!

III. Grammar drill.

The previous lesson we learned The past Simple Tense, let’s revise it.

Для выражения, какого действия мы используем The past Simple Tense?

Какую форму глагола мы используем?

С помощью какого вспомогательного глагола задаём вопрос и строим отрицательное предложение?

Например.

Look at my pictures; say what did Roo do yesterday?

Use the model.





-Спросите у Кенги, что Ру делал вчера?

-Tell me when did Roo read the book?


  1. Reading.

  1. Pre-reading: Do you want to know what did he read? It is a story about the Wolf & the Sheep. Let’s listen to it.

  1. While reading activities.

-Listen and say.Who said this?

-I can't drink this dirty water.

-I didn't make the water dirty.

-I didn't meet you here before.

-How could I put my feet into the water?

-I didn't come here a year ago

A WOLF AND A SHEEP

A Wolf saw a Sheep by a small river and wanted to

eat him. He shouted (закричал): "I can't drink this

dirty water! It is dirty! You have made (сделал) the

water dirty. You put your dirty feet into the water!"

"No, I didn't make it dirty," the

Sheep answered. "I didn't put my feet

into the water. I drink with my mouth

(pom) and not with my feet. Look! My

feet are not in the water."

"OK. Then it was last year. You put your feet into the water last year!" the Wolf shouted. "And you made the water dirty."

"But I am only four months old," the Sheep said. "How could I put my feet into the river a year ago?"

"If it was not you, it was your brother or your father," the Wolf shouted and jumped on the poor (бедный) Sheep.



Answer the questions:

What did the Sheep do by the river?

Why did the Wolf come to the river?

What did the Wolf say to the Sheep?

What did the Sheep answer?

What did the Wolf shout?

What did the Wolf do?



Correct the statements.

A Wolf saw a Sheep in the forest.

The Sheep wanted to drink some water.

The Wolf wanted to make friends with the Sheep.

The Wolf said: "How are you?"

The Sheep answered: "I'm fine, thank you."

The Wolf shouted: "Don't run away! Let's play together.



Give English equivalents to the following Russian ones:

-волк увидел маленького барашка у реки и захотел съесть его.

Я не могу пить эту грязную воду.

Ты поставил свои грязные копыта в воду.

Я пью ртом, а не копытами.

Хорошо ,Тогда это было в прошлом году.

Но мне всего лишь 4 месяца.

Волк закричал и прыгнул на бедного барашка



Post reading activities.

Finish the story.


Use the words:

Ran away, shouted, ran after him, help me please, saw the hunters, came & helped.
